Since the patch to secret of fire/ice i'm sure a lot of you have tried different builds with refund points or whatever.

Those who have tried both please say what you found out.

I choose str> dex > Int

Dex and int are both good, and i prefer having them both.  However con is pretty substitutable.

If your a naturally high dex class, then yeah go for int other wise try to do both

Have you seen a noticable improvement in your dps by adding int?

Yeah, i am harmonious, and was previously Str>dex>con

I recently took everything out of dex and placed into Int, the secrets are certainly doing more. (Str>int>con)
If i add up all my crits, in total it comes to 78% and before with higher dex was 81%.

With all raid buffs (and debuffs) i assume i have 100% crit rate, but i don't crit on every single hit so i assume there is a cap which i have reached.
Monk ranged damage is so poor regardless of dex, and i can live without 2% parry/dodge.

For harmonious at least i'd say dex is entirely useless ?

I find dex to be of great importance to my play style.

I play pvp, so dex does several things

It helps me crit because successful pvp needs defence so i spend my time in crane stance with a martial sword.

I use Shurikens alot in pvp, they probably account for 50% of the damage I do vs other players, high dex = good ranged damage.

Dex helps my dodge and parry, self explainatory.

I'm usually built str/dex/int 5/5/4 it works very well.

The question i'd like to know the answer to around the subject of int is where the point of diminshed returns kicks in. For my Bloodmage and Sorcerer its at 300 int.  300 points gives me 100% spell damage and there after every 10 points = +1% damage. Giving a maximum 160% damage at 900 int. + focus's + SDR gear.

On us monks though that spell damage mod from int isn't displayed on the character sheet, but i'm under the impression that it comes at a much lower level. Anyone figured out where that point lies?

I suppose one method to test this out for a lvl 50 monk is to roll a new monk and take it to the trainer, from the trainer look up the values of the secret of ice/fire damage range.  From there switch back to your lvl 50 monk and alter your int till you match the numbers from the trainer.

I want to say normalization occurs at 275.

Get a custom ui and you will see spell dmg rating.

Monks sdr scales differently then other classes so we only need 200 int to have 125 spell dmg rating, With full raid buffs we go up to 1000 spell dmg rating and secret of flame hits for 2-3k a hit.

I Dumped all Dex in favor of Int some weeks ago and never looked back, as a harmony Monk Raid Buffed were above the Crit cap anyways.

I lost a little evasion and lost some ranged dps, however the gains from Secrets procing higher easy outweighs that.
