Hi Fellow Moks

Recently one of our guild members Parsed a couple of raids to keep tabs on dps heals mob attack damage etc.

Something very odd has showed up, its showing that in Both raids My crit rate was Exactly 42%
Through out the pulling and fighting im more a less constantly hot key swapping gear and weapons, even so the Crit rate on Both raids is still showing the Same 42% even after 6000 hits or so

Im Harmony Monk and use Legendary Tiger stance 30%
Ulak and hand wraps 7.5%
Dexterity approx 13%
Gear 26.27%
Total = 76.77%

I know Fujitsu recently mentioned the Crit Cap was around 65% ish but now none of this is adding up, and feel something has quite recently been changed Can any shed some light on this?

Thank you

Would be great to have crit rate parsed with different gear each time with different "official" crit rating.
Would also be nice to test with various classes, to see if this is a monk only issue or cross class issue.
If this is the case, harmo monks are going to be using their crane stance even for DPS Smiley

Some others from our raid: -

Monk 42%
Warrior 38%
Necro 9%
Disciple 48%
Rogue 43%
BM   41%
DK 23%
Cleric 24%

above is taken as average % from both parses although apart from Monk all results are within + or - 1

id bet the reason for that is half the monks are harmonious and get a larger base crit

Be sure the parser is smart enough to separate out the secret damage from the normal damage.
Your crit rate for the secrets is probably not your full melee crit rate, and you get 1 secret attack for every normal attack.
If you're at 65% crit for the normal attacks and 19% crit rate for the secrets, then you'd pick a 42% average crit rate.

I'm using a similar setup to you except with less crit gear, and definitely notice a difference in the rate at which my finishing attacks light up when in tiger stance compared to crane stance.

Thanks for the heads rhiadd, what your saying is making sense, i guess the parse is working much like all he other ones i have seen (not so good)  Lips Sealed

I havent noticed a seperate hit in the logs for the +600 dmg with secret of flame and the rest of the melee dmg.

Each melee hit has one message and it includes the dmg from the secrets +melee dmg.

The only thing seperate is the proc dmg.  You shouldnt be seeing anything funky from secrets in a parse.

I would be willing to bet money that the variance in monks crits is only due to harmonious monks being in offensive stance.  That along would add a variance of over 15%.

I always get a separate secrets damage message in my logs, and I'm not using any UI mods atm.

I've attached a sample combat log - the secret definitely shows up on it's own line, and it has it's own critical hit line.

After the eagle claw crit hit at the top, the secret of ice also crit hit.  Halfway down the thousand fist crit hit, but the secret of ice did not.
