  Hello everyone,

Ive started up another Monk, but this time, with my friend whos coming back to play a Shaman.  My first monk was a Dragon monk.  This monk im going to be playing with him im considering going Harmonious since Ill be duoing with him a lot.  and I thought I'd change it up a little bit.

Quick questions-

Since im going Qalian Human my intended stat distribution this time around plan on going

5str 5dex 2con 2int,  Any opinions on that setup?

How's Harmonious overall dmg now after GU3?
Pro's/Con's of Harmonious with a Shaman if any?  Shall I go Dragon instead?

Just wondering how the Harmonious monk and shaman would is in comparisson with a Dragon monk.

Any reccomendations or help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks all.

Hi ...

The only thing I would really care about is the racial skills.
One human racial  ( no idea which) has a 10 seconds invulnerability towards spells+melee, which is probably the greatest and most overpowered racial up to this point (if you consider raiding).
If you wanna raid, spell invulnerability is the only thing you miss as monk and it s gonna kill you quite alot without that racial skill.

Now about harmonious dmg ... it s for sure not too great, harmonious is more focussed on debuffing than on dealing dmg.
It's out of question that Dragon is alot better dmg wise.

If you want to level, i d go dragon or drunken just because they kill faster ... but i d prefer dragon cause of its AE abilities.
I've a shaman too and i ve found it easy to AE 2 dots up to lvl 35 or so.

It is just a guess, but i d say a harmonious monk does 30% less dmg

Btw when you re done with levling and want to raid, you can just change your style to drunken or harmonious as Dragon style is totally useless when it comes to pulling.
Raid pulling greatly depends on the usage of a melee invulnerabilty skill ... and dragon monks dont have that one.

hope that helped you abit :-)

regards ...

What about the Stat distribution?  Im going 5str 5 dex 2 con 2 int. sound good/bad?

Also, Ive heard from some ppl that seem to favor Harmonious for more dps over Dragon(even though it probably shouldnt be that).  Hows their haste abilities that siphons speed from the mobs an such? Any idea?

I intend on doing one of the quests tonight just so itll help for now for killing.

Any other info you monk community could toss me would greatly be appreciated it

I play Harmonious monk and love it, I see no reason for Drunken at the moment as when duoing I can keep aggro easily enough.

Dragon or Harm...my understanding is currently damage is near identical, Harmonious possibly even higher at lower lvls than Dragon.  Dragon has better AE if you like that, otherwise I vote Harm, if they are weaker damage its not significant.

As for stats, I go 5 Str, 5 Dex, 4 Int to improve my Secrets damage.  Con gives a few hp, but if Im tanking in a duo or solo the aim is to kill before im killed so damage is the key, hp is a nice bonus but Im no tank, so hunting wise I go Int for damage.

For raids it may be different, the resist and hp from con may be of great use, but if that is the case I can use my refund points at a later date to change from Int to Con
