Well, I get better returns on a Martial Sword than, say, a dexterity buff. I've only tried +parrying earrings so far, though, so I couldn't tell you whether + Melee Evasion gear is worth it.

If your refering to melee evasion the skill
+ 143 melee evasion ( 3.4% vs a lvl50) then no its not working imho.  Its like + 143 melee dmg rating (3.4% vs lvl 50) Sure they both add to evasion/damage but it doesnt directly add that much % wise.  I think at most i had was +300 melee evasion and i say maybe a 2% across the board increase to defense.

Point for point, i beleive it goes like tihs
parry %(martial swords)> + dodge > +parry skill > +melee evasion

The reasons are pretty simple, the parry % on martial swords directly increases your parry % by the said ammount with relationship to level.  So +20% vs a lvl 53 might add 25% vs a lvl 50.   Dodge (from my personal experiance) adds more avoidance then parry point for point, and melee evasion is an indirect modifier of overal avoidance.

I was under the impression that any bonus to melee evasion was applied prior to other mods (Parry / Dodge). I do remember that I had a level 30 ish tunic of avoidance back in the day and iirc the evasion was modified by the amount in the tool tip. I was obsessed with accurate accounting of those modifiers so I was able to break everything down and it was accurate..... was being the accurate word.

 I will ask around to see if I can get some hard numbers on this.

God this would be so nice to know.

As a disciple who loves to offtank, i have tailored my gear for this, by adding as much +dodge, evasion, accuracy, and quested for two rings that add a large amount of parry as well.

Yes, I would like to know as well if anybody can confirm.  I'm about to purchase a set of T3 flawless with melee evasion all over it.

Are parry and dodge capped at 500 BTW?

Dodge and Parry works at over 500 skill, However the readings are a little odd and don't seem to tally up. I have the following

Adventuring skills reads;
Dodge is a little over 761  18% (maximum)
Parry at 742 and its reading 17.8%

Mouse over Dex reads (410dex): -
Dodge = 9.48% of 18%
Parry = 9.36% of 17.8% possible

Mouse over defense reads: -
14.04% Melee Mitigation
10.35% Spell Mitigation
50.06% Melee evasion (22.42% Dodge, 32.24% Parry)

Anyway increasing Dodge and Parry is helping us, if you get enough items you can realy notice the difference. Dodge seems to be hitting a cap at around 760ish! Where Parry caps i dont know, but it should be possible to boost it to over 1000 points. Something else to consider is that a Martial sword, Aum buff and stance Buff will add a % increase to the Base stats!

I been trying for these answers for a couple months now, so if you get them fill me in to pls.  I believe it's capped and I've heard 35% and I've heard 65%, but my parsing shows a number closer to 50%, so it could go either way.

Mitigation caps at 65% so I would assume that same goes for evasion.

The Evasion + you get from armor seems to build on dodge btw which would explain why all the evasion stuffs are worthless to a heavy fighter..

My personal testing had numbers pointed roughly to that, as did Sung's,  3 seperate sources are saying roughly the same thing. While not an official notification I think we can make a leap of logic.
