I would like to say i am happy with the  change to foolhardy swagger and ritw/magnificant drunken stagger.
I still would like to see our defensive stance bumped a bit on the evasion area to further seperate us from the other 2 styles in that area(we are the master of misdirection),Take the new disciple defensive stance for example,15 pct dodge,15 pct spell mit,20 pct less hate.
Our stance should increase this by  upping dodge and parry to maybe 12pct parry 12 dodge.
I know i might be asking alot but as drunken we should be the hardest to hit class in game by far and away.
Currently we are not..all 3 styles are way to close in the respect(evasion i refer to).
On a side not id like to also talk about FD.I know there is always give and take when it comes to balance of class,That said may i suggest take FD off global and give it a refresh of 1.This keeps it inline with  a cooldown that the global would incur but allows us to use fd  then pop up and use a skill like throw to create better seperation when pulling.

The drunken monk is described in the game as masters of evasion.  The aspect of the drunken monk that I enjoyed most was the ability to actively use my evasion skills to benefit my group especially in crisis situations.  This could be done by forcing a mob to target you then using evasion abilities.  Unfortunately, the combination of those abilities with endurance regen, jin regen and refresh reduction gave us an overpowered ability to tank epic creatures.

What I want returned is some way to actively use my evasion skills to the benefit of my mates.  This is a situational, risk filled, skill based and rewarding gameplay that can set a great monk apart from a good monk.

Our current skill set no longer allows for this because jeering kick does not last nearly long enough to be meaningful.  We no longer have any method of affecting multiple mobs.  And our ability to avoid damage has been affected by the changes to swaying step.

Since the refresh reduction on our other avoidance skills have been changed I am not  terribly concerned with the changes to swaying step.  That said, I would love to see a see drunken stagger last a few seconds longer.

These changes could be done with some form of intercept ability or a more meaningful forced target ability.  If a forced targeting ability is used then it cannot be on the same immunity as the defensive fighters as this will lead to the raid banning its use. I have no issue with it being on the same immunity as other drunken monks or other  offensive fighters.  I would love to have some way to pull either one or many creatures like I did before. Perhaps force target every mob attacking a defensive target?

What I do not want is a passive evasion buff for the tank or an ability that I will be required to spam at every refresh.  This is boring and requires no skill.  I do like the added utility from swagger; there are some decisions to be made especially on mem wiping mobs.  I would focus on changing jeering kick.

The “Wow! A monk can do that?” or “I am rolling a monk!” tells I would get after grouping were quite gratifying.  It made me feel heroic.  I do not want to be the main tank in a raid, if I did I would roll a protective fighter.  What I want back is the risk and reward that came from rescuing my mates.

(edited for clarity)

Quinn can you maybe getwith talisker and check that the hate modifier on foolhardy swagger is giving  the proper % ammount. Alot of fight i spam this on the tanks and offtanks  every 18 sec along with goading slap and it doesnt seem to be putting that much hate on my defensive targets, many times hate becomes undone on the tank and when i am spamming the offtank all the hate i can for 2-3 mins before hate drops the offtank is bypassed by the mob and goes right to a different class.
Just maybe make sure its acually giving hate in proper quantity.
Thanks

have to agree with Kivik here on fool hardy swagger 3 , just does not seem to be adding agro to the tank.

about Jeering Kick was thinking of maybe making it use your defensive target as to whom it attacked, but along the lines of foolhardy swagger in regards to them having to be on the agro list so it could not be abused in pvp.

While im a dragon main ive been drunken on live since game update 2.  I play a dragon on test because i feel they still need the most work.  Having said that i really only know how they play at 50.

My general thoughts were that overall drunken monks dmg didnt go down much by losing jeering kick, but the dmg vs tanking is now at a level where id say the dmg is to low for how little tanking we can do.

We still have errant strike to hold ae agro if wanted.

Here are my thoughts
1) move the agro increase to defensive stance
2) increase the evasion on defensive stance
3) add a small hate gain to slap hands, it already costs loads of jin
4) make magnificent drunken swagger 20s duration so it matched find the center
5) maybe add a whithering palm type attack that removes 10% evasion from the target and adds it to the monk

Drunken is supposed to be the tank, but currently he doesnt feel very tankly, harmonious has a better defensive stance (cause of end reduction) and better defensive buffs (find the center lasts 5 seconds longer, and diamond skin is now perm on)  While harmonious still retrains considerably higher dps then drunken.  The only way i get a drunken to compete with harmonious is to have max refresh haste and using thousand fist ever 22 seconds and PeH every 2.2m

I think jeering kick needs to be changed from a full out "force target for 2 hits" to something like fool hardy for single targets, with a lower % increase and a faster then 30 second reuse time. maybe 15.

Not sure if inteneded or not but  drunken monks can hit impossible drunken palm(which forces next attack to crit) then hit Ashen hand (which will be forced crit ) at this point because  ashen hand critted it then pops  all the skill chains again provided they are not on refresh with part 2 of the inital skill chan staying up  (drunken arms of the cyclone) as well as all the others.
its acually pretty nice dps  but unsure if this is working as intended.

The downside is that you can blow the crit on an autoattack if your weapon speed is too fast. Cry

Get a powered blade staff of devastation :-p they are like 2.6s delay, youll never blow a jin surge or crit bonus on an auto attack!

Honestly though, im not sure if its intended, from what i see finishers stay up after you get the inital crit even if you perform a second attack that doesnt crit.  Least its done that to me for the last few days, again im not sure if its intended, but i use Crescent kick -> boundless fist instantly all the time and 90% of the time crescent kick crits and boundless fist used to cancle it by not criting, now it seems that for the most part i can continue and do a finisher that crescent kick started.

Although most adv finishers do say "must follow XYZ attack" not all do , which works well for tossing in jin surge now.

The part where chains stay open is intended. It is that way now for all classes. It was a very easy way to increase all classes DPS and also aleviated some of the micro-management from the chains.

I think hate added to the defensive stance. Or an increase in the hate stance would really help out the drunken monk. I'm pretty resonably geared but having trouble holding agro in defensive. Either that or I get slapped around in hate stance. The stances could really use a bit of work. Nothing too much, but more hate would be nice. Perhaps a taunt of some type?

The main problem is drunkens give up a LOT of dmg in comparison to dragon/harmonious.  Then they get marginally nothing out of it, infact harmonious gets jsut 1% less evasion, AND a perm 30% ac buff, which seems more tankly then middle ground to me.

Drunken
off  - 20% dps 5% crit , minus 25% avoidance (again youd be at 75% current avoidance, not 0,... also i know i lowered the dps, and i know i removed parry but it doesnt really fit the offensive stance, but again the defensive stance should more then make up for it)
def - 15% dodge/parry/spell mitigation, +25% hate per attack (minus the hate buff, this is disciples current defensive, also the hate buff was moved to defensive stance to make tanking easier)
mid - 10% refresh haste, 7% dodge/parry (lost the hate gain, gained some dodge. parry)

thanks Fujitsu

def :
15% spell mitigation...edit forgot to add
15% parry
12% dodge
keep the minor DS
and include the 25% hate from drunken mastery

offensive:
22% dam
10%crit
minus 15% mitigation

middle:
5% dodge
5% parry
10% refresh timer
7% accuracy

would prefer not  to lose any damage, all monks are supposed to be dps but each style should bring a different utility

make RitW a purchased ability

give us the 3 new "learned" ablities. one unique ability for each style, kind of how shamans are done.

fix to foolhardy swagger if indeed it is not giving the agro buff to defensive target

fix the bug with slap hands if you have yourself targeted as defensive target.

increase magnificnt drunken to 25 seconds and lower the refresh to 2 minutes, would be compareable to the diamond body then.

just a few thougt, from the baords and the quote of Fuji's on top.

"increase magnificnt drunken to 25 seconds and lower the refresh to 2 minutes, would be compareable to the diamond body then."

While i like where you are going with most of the stuff i would have to say that ^ would really overpower us as drunken monks if they put it on a 2 min timer.I would love to see it hit 20-25 seconds though and keep the 5 min reuse as i thought it was already pretty well balanced with my self ability to refresh haste it.
Spell mit,If it is working properly i would love to see it on more gear and perhaps in the stances somewhere for Pulling type monks, casters can be real nasty to pull if there is no objects around to LOS them.
While Monk is a dps based class i personally dont mind drunken being well under the other 2 monks in dps provided our survivability is considerable..and i mean really considerable higher then the other 2,not just marginal.I chose drunken back at release for this reason with pulling always the main focus. If i wanted dps i would  have gone a diff route(prolly dragon and like fujitsu fought really hard to push for that style as dps)
anyway just my 2cents .
