Generally in MMORPG's whenever I start I play char after char looking for something, but its seems like no classes ever satisfy me, until now. I just rolled my first monk ever, which was also one of the first dps classes I have ever rolled, (i normally go caster or healer), and I have to say I love it. See, this website is full of posts and posts about improvements monks need, and how the seem inferior over all or not as balanced as the other classes, but to me I believe that is an attraction. You actually have to have skill to play a monk! It really is a challenge, at least in my mind compared to my pal's necro. I mean, I watched him play and it was just to easy and overpowered...what is the fun in that? He doesn't have to work for it at all...just click root-dot-fear or some sorta combo like that is what he told me...(i have never played a necro just for the record), and my good friend/roommate malakii is a ranger, which believe me looks fun but again just to easy.

So i mean ya more dps would be nice along with some of the other changes mentioned throughtout these forums,  but the way it is now, when you see a GOOD monk, you are really looking at an AWESOME player..someone who knows this "weaker" class inside and out, who has learned to manage/balance abilities with weapons and situations...all the while dealing with the problems that have apparently come with monks.

Now I am on the Xeth server, which is where I mainly play, but I created a monk on a pvp server to see how they held out, and believe me, for me it was a challenge, (not to say that much better players than me prolly had an easier time with it), but it was exciting and kept you on your toes. I really had to use more strategy to get my kills, and really use all of my abilites to the fullest to get a kill, (and possibly get lucky a lot of the time!). I died a lot, but I got my fair share of kills too, and when i did it was very rewarding and I felt like i was that much better of a player than them. My fav kill was a necro, which I  have heard is amazing pvp and solo. Now if they are as good as they are supposed to be, then that is bragging rights. My monk of equal level killed your necro...and thats the way uh uh i like it!

Maybe this is a pointless post but I just wanted to throw in my opinions. I don't care if they improve this class at all personally (besides your bugs which are just not supposed to be there!), because the challenge is what makes us better, and that is what really sets monks apart from other classes-we work to be the best, it isn't given to us

/agree Lokii

Me as a Dragon Monk, it is allways a challenge, against 3dot or few 2dot, to dish out more damage in short time as they can dish out on me  Grin

I love it when im on 30% health and my styles start epic criting and all those hordes in front of me die before my health drops lover than 10%. I love to "hard-dps" and fake death after i killed a mob in pull of 2-4, just to make the encounter without needed a group or crowd control or healer or tank. Its not a easy life, as you said, but its a count of good work and you know after it that not everyone can make it this way  Wink

I played Ranger to lvl 32, i played Bard to lvl 30, played even rogue till 20 - and monk is imho best offense fighter, best in fun and style,  even with his bugs monk is imho the strongest offense fighter. Works fine solo and glances in groups. This game is a group game, so classes that really shine solo are not that atractive. There are some classes that really shine in groups, and thats the point of it - and thats the field a monk move at.

I think its the same as in EQ1: you are a monk or you are not a monk  Wink

Yes, the class is très cool. Yes, you can tell the good from the bad players. But I wouldn't be posting about changes if I didn't deem them necessary... virtual penis envy is not my style.
