Some of my guildies are currently working on the lvl 50 Armor quest in the swamp. I am at the faction grinding step since I am not 45 yet to actually get the quest.

One of my guildies compiled a great overview which I guess would interest you guys too.
Credit goes to my guildmate Marlis Grumblebelly of "Bewahrer der Welten".

The guy next to the Lord of Elani (Embassador something  I think) offers you three quests depending on faction - this is basically the start. (Ruin Falls Chunk)

Each Armor set contains a "basic" set of uncommon pieces with rare legs, chest and shoulders. Later this "basic set" can be upgraded to a rare set with ultra rare legs, chest and shoulders.

the Setīs are:

Ichtakhta:
Splintered Membranous---> Shadowmantis

Flordiel:
Studded Forest Leather ---> Feral Leaf

Gorgalok.
Swamp Leather ---> Flare Totem

Quest Summary:

Lv50 Armor quest information:

Level Requirement: min level 45
Quests : Lv50 armor quests
Location: Southwest Thestra, deep swamp areas.
Chunks (from east to west): Flordiel, Vsurog Moor, Ichitakhta

Outline:
There are 3 main races/factions in the areas, Flordiel, Gorgalok and Ichitakhta. Each are enemies to another. Each faction has a full set of (9 parts of) armor quests for each class.

Flordiel - Balanced
Gorgalok - Offensive
Ichitakhta - Defensive

Completing the quests give you uncommon~rare armor pieces which many call them "base (armor)". They can then be further upgraded to higher quality (e.g. uncommon to rare, rare to heroeic) armor parts in the next patch which may drop the required upgrade components. You can check the stats for upgraded armor parts via your assembly window => unique, once you have completed a faction raise quest.
* at 4/24/2007, some players may not be able to view them. This is a known bug and will be fixed soon.

Note: There are no heavy base armor for clerics. However you will be able to upgrade the medium armor to plate when the components are available.

The quest series is still officially incomplete and will be further polished in the coming patches.
Currently completable armor parts: Glove, Underlay, Belt, Wristguard, Boots
Unable to complete due to some components not in game yet: Legging, Chest, Cap, Shoulder

----------
[Requirement to get quest offer]

You may be able to get all the quests regardless if the NPC is KoS to you. However, you will need to be non-KoS in order to be able to complete the quest (NPC wll not talk if you are KoS when reporting).

You will need less than -7999 dynamic faction to become non-KoS.

----------
[Raising Faction]

1) Killing the opposing enemies raises 2 faction of your choice, 1 faction of a less opposing fdaction, and minus 2 faction of the greatest enemy.

Kills:
Ichitakhta: +2 Gorgalok, +1 Flordiel, -2 Ichitakhta
Flordiel: +2 Ichitakhta, +1 Gorgalok, -2 Flordiel
Gorgalok: +2 Flordiel, +1 Ichitakhta, -2 Gorgalok

2) Faction quest are available from the representative standing outside of the city near entrance. The have a quest offer icon on top of them so shoul be easy to spot:

Ichitakhta:Ichitakhta,Karoz of the Ichtakhta
Flordiel: Flordiel, Esurin
Gorgalok: Vsurog Moor, Emissary Geisel

By receiving their quest, you will be given a ring. Equip them in order to collect the drop. Armor parts are said to also need the rings equipped, but there has been reports that the components could still be obtained without it on.

* Since there was a bug which messed up many players' faction previously, the dev has applied a temporary quest "Attonement" to enable you to instantly become non-KoS with a faction. However, the quest will only stay for a period of time so if you are lazy to grind faction, do it ASAP by accepting the quest and report back to the NPC.
* Also have report that you have to finish the attonement quest to get the ring for the faction of your choice.

-------------
[Armor quests]

You may get the armor quests from the NPC inside the cities:

Flordiel: Telnia
Ichitakhta:Stockpiler Gelmitz
Gorgalok: Veregeth

Each armor parts require you to collect armor ptterns and some other components. These components are tradable, but some of the petterns are no-trade tagged.

[Current known components]

- Patterns and where to get from :
Flordiel patterns: Gorgalok
Ichitakhta patterns: Flordiels
Gorgalok patterns: Ichitakhta

Tier 1 (Tradable):
Wrist, Belt
- 2 dotter mobs

Tier 2:
Underlay, Boots, Cap, Glove
- 3 dotter mobs?

Tier 3:
Shoulder, Legging, Tunic (* Tunic pattern is currently not in game yet)
- Nameds

Other components:
Risidual Chaos Energy - Named
Nihilistic Storm Particles - Not found
Leech Barbs - Not found
Fungal Arcane Bulb - Not found
Spore Beast Membrane - Not found
Warped Wind Essence - Blue Moth, Gorgalok Tender, Swamp Lancer, Velok hatchling, Gorgalok Sentry... possibly any trash
Fragmented Wind Essence - Gorgalok Sentry, Gorgalok Scout, Ichtakhta Worker.. possibly all trash?
Undamaged Fungal Fiber - Mnalus (Mushroom People)

* Note that the above components are semi-rare drop. You may only get 1 or 2 drops every hour if you are lucky. Hopefully drop rate will go up in the future patches.

Torn Gorgalok Hide - Any Gorgalok
Ichtakhta Chitin Fragment - Any Ichtakhta
Flordiel Tree Pulp - Any Flordiel

--------------------
[Upgrading armor parts]
At this point I have no idea how as its not available. However since you can harvest the corpse of the mobs, I assume that you may need these items, head to a work bench and assemble them (just select part and click "ok" to finish).

Harvest type:
Gorgalok: Skinning
Ichitakhta: Quarrying
Flordiel: Lumberjacking

Per yesterday the upgrade recipes are in (from the different vendors in the npc cities).
They are soulbound and no trade. At this point I don't have any information on what level crafter you have to be or if it's an auto-succeed thing.

But seeing you have to be lvl 45 to accept the quests it looks like high level outfitters.

Is there any news on the upgrade recipes yet? Mainly I am interested if we need to be crafters in iorder to upgrade that armor or if it is a auto succeed?

And are all components for these armor parts in game yet?

Thanks in advance!

It seems it's still quite a mess.
Not all armor parts are in game yet no. But that might very from type to faction.

Quote
There are a few options on the table for what to do with the crafting recipe situation. It was never intended for a crafter to have to be a level 45+ adventurer in order to obtain and utilize the recipe.

Will have one of the solutions in place either today or tomorrow as well as revising the armor sets (such as making them all level 50 armor as well as making them more enticing, comparatively). The events within the Shrine of Hegnerian are *ALMOST* complete as well.

There is a team of designers here working diligently on raid content, and they've been doing an awesome job and have a lot planned. With that being said, the raids that were originally planned for the Gorgalog Swamp are being implemented as group content (which doesn't affect any of the already-implemented content, but does mean the breastplates will be made available much sooner).

I've got quite a list of items to address, so I thank you all again for taking the time to offer your feedback / complaints / compliments - I try to take everything into consideration (within reason, of course!).

Hopefully you do not have to be a crafter.  These are outfitter recipes basically right?  So if crafting was required, then it would probably require an outfitter, and i doubt even the idiots in charge are moronic enough to make it a requirement to be a high lvl outfitter to complete this armor quest, but i wouldn't be suprised......

Is there somewhere to hand in Flor Symbols for Gorg faction? Or even exp that they're supposed to give?
