And here in lies the problem with the monk class...how many other classes have to change gear in the middle of a fight just to be successful?   Its veyr sad that you have to play an extreamly specific way as a monk to have a chance to do anything solo.

You dont. I just use the tools available to me to get the most out of the class. You cant change armor mid fight so it's not like I am doing a full switch of gear. Many classes macro weapon changes to stances so enough of that.  crazy2

Could I stay offensive throught the entire fight? Probably, Do I need to use the extra parry jewelery? Most likely not, but I am squeezing every bit I can out of my gear and abilities?

Do I think the monk is fixed? No it needs work.....

Seems like monks are fixed for me. I mean, they've stopped working on monks now and gone back to clerics and rangers...

Ahh, ignore my posts. Most of them are done while i'm drunk (like now)  Tongue but i do mean this;

I have had a monk at 33 now for a while, the reason it hasn't gone further, is because I've lost most of my interest in the monk since I'm having a really hard time soloing. I've gone back to Eq2-Nagafen and started playing my monk there... I've not completly given up on my monk class on vg. so I do log on every now and then just to check how i'm doing solo. But until we get some serious fixing, I'm staying with EQ2-

I just cannot understand why we are still in this shape.  I love my 42 monk, I love vanguard and I think Sigil has done a knockout job with this game.  But when a class is horrible, how can the guys over at Sigil not post some rock solid information bout the future of our class.  It is awesome when QtM posts coming updates.  He is the only reason I still play.  But I would love to see a Sigil rep post giving an outline of coming updates and what their plans are.  I realize they are busy, but if they want to get our cash, they are going to have to do more than post about diplomacy and crafting...

I feel the love!!!  laugh

Seriously though, I still talk about the monk with Talisker on a quasi daily basis and I've asked to get a new set of numbers from the servers to see where we are DPS wise.  If we still arent where we are supposed to be I'll keep pushing for more DPS (which I prolly will have to.)

This really isnt the place for a whats on deck kinda thing but i'll post it anywho I think I posted parts of this else where but i'll just throw it all out there.

Stuff that is getting fixed
-CoS will finally not incurr global cooldown.
-Drunken FIst Stance: Parry mod added, and mitigation penalty is lowered to 5%
-There was a display bug for iron hands not showing the correct damage.

Stuff in the works
- Getting improved damage for dragon AE attacks
- A single target adv finisher for Dragon Stlye
- Aggro management tools for the drunk Style
- P.E.H.  Damage Tweaks
- V2.0 Bug & Issue list
-Nerfing Hamonious monks untill the cry (Just kidding on this one  crazy2)

Actually, if the AoE finishers were fixed (they cant currently compete with the "Disco Stu" version rangers get at 26 or sommert at 50 due to the multiple wave hitting of weapon+sommert (pretty much a rich mans thousand fists, even if random)) and did damage comparable to thousand fists (maybe more, AoE is still situational at best, you risk getting adds, breaking mezes and overagroing on 2ndary tanked mobs, and what else not) a 3rd finisher in the tree wouldn't be off for the dragon.
Or, make the third finisher in the Style special line (dragon claw, north wind etc) for all styles and open up third line for all styles (or don't, pending on damage changes). ~

Thanks for update though, good to see some of the more important things being prioritzied!
