In storm stance you now have 0% mitigation?   I was taking 660 damage from a level 25 4dot at level 40.  I didn't see another post about this, if there is sorry.  Dunno if I want to uninstall/quit vanguard, or curl up in a ball and cry.  I'll just never understand Sigil I suppose.  Sad

I noticed too but i believe that to be relative to your  fighting creatures you level. Did you try fighting that 4 dot with another stance?

Yes.  Then I almost died because I wasn't doing enough damage Tongue

Also, the tool tip at the top says 12% reduction which is fine, but the tool tip on the actual skill is 15%.. Its hard being a monk

It wasn't like that before the last patch. Before, it was reducing your mitigation by X% of its total.
Now it became "your mitigation" - X%.

I really hope it's a bug, because I find it weird to have a penalty on our stance greater than the total mitigation we have, and it wasnt mentioned in the patch notes.

Any update on this Quinn?

The mitigation penalty on the drunken fist stance operates the same way.  It makes about as much sense as the changes to the stances do.

Yes but does it put you to 0% mitigation?

It makes me sad when I see that in relation with the patch notes.

The notes said : "reduced the mitigation penalty on Storm Dragon Stance". I went ok, cool, it went from 20% to 16% or something at lvl22....Well, in fact it's -16% now! If i could have mitigation below 0, I would have it while in storm dragon, it's ridiculous!

Noticed the same thing.  Looking at my defense, my melee mitigation goes to 0.00% when in Storm Dragon stance.  So I guess the negative 10% mitigation is fine to me, being that I had less then 10% to begin with.

The mitigation based on defense is calculated wrong. The value granted from Physical resistance remains untouched by Magnificent Storm Dragon. The defense based mitigation is 0% for me as well.

I am getting conflicting reports on this... a.k.a I'll add it to my list of things to double check on test tonight.

Take some logs of and get smacked around about about 50 times in Storm Dragon Stance and Then do the same thing in the regen stance. Compare the numbers.  Pretty much my plan for when I go get home tonight.

If it's not right I'll happily send IM's in alll caps on your behalf.

I'll dog pile on this matter, I'm showing 0% as well and incoming damage is highened significantly (I've been soloing the shadowhound questline at lvl 29 and have been sliding by single mobs by the skin of my teeth at times).  I'm seeing exactly what the numbers say, zero mitigation in Storm dragon stance.

Update;

This is indeed how it is operating now. That is why it was lowered. You cannot have a mitigation lower than 0 though. So the mobs can't get a damage bonus on you while in this stance.

Ok, so instead of reducing our mitigation by 1/5th, we're now stuck at 0% mitigation when we're in Storm Dragon. I don't know at higher levels, but there is no way in hell I can have more mitigation than the penalty, except maybe if all my stuff was at least yellow 6 or 7 level above me... I think the malus to mitigation is a bit too much here and would need some tweaking.

I did a bunch of testing last night by abusing foolhardy swagger and stealing aggro duruing my group last night. For me I couldnt get my DEF tooltip to update for the mitigation penalty (Could be a UI thing though). But the avg hit I took last night did seem in line with the penalty. I was at 19% mitigation and was approximately reduced to 9%

I found I could still solo 3 dot blues pretty reliably solo by starting in my evasive stance and go offensive when the mob was about 1/2 health. I take full advantage of gear as well by creating macros that wear parry / dodge jewelery as well as martial sword when you set your stance to the evasion stance. Then load up on the HP / Crit stuff with your "Uber Weapon of Mass Destruction" when in the offensive stance.

My only kryptonite are caster mobs *meh* even with 1/2 elven racial I can get burned down quick.

While I personally don't have a problem with the system in place I'll bring it to Talisker & Co if y'all think it needs adjusting.
