At level 47 (appears to be shifting)
Dragon Stance - +68 regen, appears to be each 6 seconds or so though - but it works.
Magnificent Storm Dragon - +22% damage (!), +4% critical hit chance, 12% of a lightning bolt, 18% mitigation penalty.

Mmm, pretty sexy.  Is the lightning proc the same damage as the one that we currently have (only about 100 or so damage)?  Or is it bigger now that it doesn't go off every hit?

So I would guess at 50 then...

Dragon stance would be a 4 sec regen
Storm - 25% dmg, 5% crit, 15% lighting proc, 20% mitigation penalty....my only question with this stance is... does it make us one of the best pure dps classes out there. I hope so. I do think the mitigation penalty may be a little high seeing as how we're paper to begin with.

Well honestly, we SHOULD be the best melee DPS class.  We have none of the utility of anyone else, no ranged, no buffs, etc.  So we have to have the damage to compete.

I like the changes a lot!  The 20% mitigation penalty seems kinda scary, but it's a good tradeoff I think.

Storm Strike Procs (at 47): 560-574. On level 30 critters though, so might be a bit off from what it's actually hitting an equally leveled mob.

The damage boost is huge. ~

Good to hear!  I hope it makes soloing a little bit easier, though maybe Dragon Stance would be better for soloing.

oh dear - storm dragon is so great now I love it to bits!!
Feet of the fire dragon with jin surge and strom dragon = yummieness.

Changing from Dragon into Storm dragon doesn't get rid of the dragon stance icon in the buff section btw...a bit annoying..

So at a 15% chance it's not going to do as much damage as our 100-ish per hit as it was before, but this is a good tradeoff for all the extra damage.  Sounds good!

Click below to see Dragon at 50

New stance screenshots

  • Top row is hovering over the stance shift button.
  • Second row is showing my stats (no buffs) when in the stance.
  • Third row is hovering over the buff window icon.
  • Bottom row is the actual stance icons.

Kind of busy the next few days, so testing will have to wait until the weekend probably. When switching stances, Dragon icon stays, and the Stone stance icons still do not match. WTB more fixes for Monks. Changing one stance and fixing another is a start. We still have a long road to travel before we are done, and I hope the devs do not decide that these changes are enough.

Level 28:
Damage +20%, crit +3%, proc 10%, mitigation -20%.

Appears to have a very slow scaling.

So the real question is...as a Dragon monk are we now going to be a dps machine like we should? Also is the Storm stance working on our ae's?

Is the regen actually noticable? Does it become a viable tool to use in FD situations?

The proc wont work on AE's as far as I could tell ( I did try a bit of AE fun to make sure) so that seperate issue is still out there.

At 50 the health regen is approximately 75 HPs a tick. Not super overpowering awesome but if FD and you have a DoT ticking away you shouldnt fear the reaper so to speak.
