This may belong in items section but I think it pertains to monks overall usefulness so posting here.

I just got done doing sisters quest a few times and ended up with some really nice legendary gear for everyone...wait for it..except me, the monk.

We got a 45 dps dagger with great mods for the rogue, a 2 handed sword that was like 62 dps or so for the Knight and a 45 dps staff with big spell damage focus and a hammer with healing focus and nice other mods.  After a couple runs I looked through one of the online databases for drops there and sure enough, no monk weapon.

So as a drunken monk not only is my damage sub par, my stances and evasion not near where they should be and of course feign still broken with no word on a fix after a month of being broken but I can't even get weapons to stay competitive with other classes dps.

Are monks/disciples just and afterthought at this point?  Classes Sigil put in so they could say 'hey look, we have all these classes!'  and then moved on to keep improving classes that are in MUCH BETTER shape than we are.

I read Taliskars one showing on this board in a month and how 'all classes have bugs and they are all being gone over'.  Hey, how about 'Yes we realize monks are not even close to where they should be, especially Dragon and Drunken monks.  We are redoing their stances and looking into upping dps as well as itemizing all the areas that other classes already have great rewards in. We apologize for the amount of time it's taken to fix feign but it is at the top of our list and should be fixed very soon. We value all your input and appreciate your patronage and patience while we fix your class."

That took me all of 3 minutes to write, how hard would that have been.

Getting more frustrated,

That would mean that they would actually have to think we are not as good as we arent!  Cry

I think they didn't realize the huge scale of play styles they actually encouraged with the "styles", and add to that each stance for every style and you got 9 different monk classes. That's a whole of a lot of balancing to do. Maybe easier at start to just make stances more or less useless - then they only need to cope with 3 monk classes. Not to mention itemization.

I'm a drunken myself and I more or less always tank. I almost only use martial sword. Compared to a dragon monk with 2 handwraps or claws or whatever I'm very different in style and concept. I also have very different view what a good monk drop would look like. I think it will surely take some time for sigil to fine tune this, but yes i do agree at least they could have thought of the "generic monk" (whatever that is) at the itemization.

Problem is noone really knows what monks are supposed to be.

Well im happy right now, lol.

I just hit lvl 40 today.  Yesterday i tried drunken style to see what it was like.  Today im back to harmonious.  IMO drunken style is the most broken and borked of every class there is.  IMO you should just go ahead and switch to harmonious because it is working well.  In one of my other posts in the intersting statistics thread i posted the kind of damage im doing with a 2handed bladestaff 41DPS in tiger stance as a harmy monk.  Basically i am pwning and outpacing rogues of equal and higher lvl with better higher DPS weapons.  It's nice =D.

Also im about to finish the graystone quest for the 71 DPS bladestaff, i will post some picks as soon as i get it, hehehehehe!  im very excited!

Hi, 50 _Drunken_ monk here. While I agree Drunken style needs some work, it irks me very much that you try the style for one day and tell everyone they should switch to harmonious. Harmonious is not everyone's playstyle just like Drunken isnt everyone's.

Sure drunken need some work but it's not that bad. I solo fine (imo atleast, have a background of warrior in eq so well compared to that i guess everyone solos fine heh). I am also the tank for my static mini-grp of friends and imo the combination of counter attacks and aggro tools works on the whole rather well. I'm 31 atm might be different  at higher levels of course.

I dunno dude, if its a playstyle type deal then i can understand your preference towards drunken style.  I apologize for irking you and offending you because i honestly didn't mean to.

My first reaction to the style and the skills was that with the exception of the taunt abilities, the kick and the AOE taunt everything else didn't seem to be as effective as it should be (especially errant strikes, wtf?).

I have talked to a lvl 50 drunken monk on my server (shidreth, named Fusoya) and he said the drunken style was very powerful also but was hesitant to give me any examples of how he used it.  I can't seem to find a lot of info from people on how the drunken stance is used.  Please enlighten my ignorance about how you use it!  I am totally willing to give it another try if you can show me how it can be used in a very offensively powerful manner (as my playstyle is lots of damage).
