Whats the point of it only working out of combat? Just curious at logic.
Our FD is broken, we are sub par in melee compared to rangers, cant take hits because they borked us too far back in mitigation, so why not just let us use nerve strike on a mob straight out? Poor mans pull if anything. Nerve one, kill other, see if we have enough health to fight another... would be nice anyway. Having it turn off attack would be nice too.

Since rangers got their SoW lowered to 12, can we get our Soaring Leap lowered in level a bit QTM?   coolsmiley

Still dont see any monk changes on test /sigh

I actually find it quite fun - challenging. Together with FD it works quite nice.

Besides, rogues' stun is out of combat only as well.

Difference is rogues can stealth up to a mob, stun it, and fight whatever comes for him.

Just seems like if it was in combat useable would add a lot to group situation. FD just to use it seems cheesy to me.

Same as we can fd up to them, stun one, and fight whatever comes for us Wink

Aye, you can also use it as a poor man's Lull when in groups...  Works great.

Also use it quite a bit in groups that don't know how to avoid roaming mobs as additional CC.

Probably one our best abilities as a DPS class.

I agree with OP.  I find the current state of Nerve Strike totally worthless.  Not many groups are going to wait around for the Monk to use FD (successfully), position the mob just right (to be in view) and then land the Nerve Strike.

Not to mention, we can't use it at all versus Adds since we are already in Combat.

Now if we could use our teleport in conjunction with Nerve Strike, THEN WE HAVE UTILITY!  God forbid Monks get some usefulness other than Vunerabilities (which 99% of players pay no attention to.)

Nerve Strike's very good.

If someone other than you pulls with a ranged attack, you can nerve strike an add before ever entering combat.  30 seconds of excellent CC is not something to scoff at, especially since we can reapply it mid combat through Feign Death.

If you dont fail FD a few times while your group could use the dps to kill said mobs or while the group is wiping.

I view this as at least a temporary thing till we are fixed, at least to try on test and see if its over powered etc.
And stormstride with nerve strike would be cool, does that not work and why not?

No it doesn't - you only warp with an attack and nerve strike doesn't count as such. I guess even if it would you would be immediately aggro as soon as you are in the mobs range
