Anybody else a little disappointed that every other class gets a pretty nice weapon, but Dragon style monks are forced to use a martial blade?  I've never used one and I don't really see a point to especially for grouping.  It's pretty much a tanking/offtanking weapon, and kind of useless for Dragon Monks.  I dunno, my guild and I are grinding for arena coins, but I'm just disappointed that everyone else gets to be excited for their 1000 coin reward but me.  =/

Havent been there yet..but im noticing a trend that most legendary weapons end up being bladestaffs or windblade/martial sword.  Personally, I am a fan of hand wraps...where are the legendary hand wraps?Huh?Huh???

Couldn't agree more.
I grinded up the skill for my Tsang Blade only to see that a) I get outaggroed by every caster and healer, even if there is no tank in the group and I hardly DO tank b) do less damage then almost everyone in my group due to the stupid base stats the martial swords have.

I am a handwrap girl myself...MORE WRAPS or at least knuckles!

Thankfully later quest rewards are at least martial staffs (even though I would have prefered bladed staves due to them not looking like a wooden stick with two lightbulbs on).
It does feel a little silly to offer us defensive weapons. :/

I look at it as i am forced to skip a quest.  1k coins wouldn't be much fun w/o a grind group anyway.  On top of this i'm more disppointed that pantheon doesn't have even a monk/disc -usable- weapon.  I would have gotten that for sure.  But yeah there's more options further down like dargon's.  But yeah... its hard to find a 2h that beats out keeping wraps upgraded for me at least.  I'm sticking with h2h.

My problem is also that I think martial staff animation (or is it only one of them?) look really stupid (I know it's idiotic to not play them because of that but they look like I am fighting while constantly having to go to the bathroom..)

I do like the sword and h2h animations much better.

It is pretty weak that there have not been any Heroic/Legendary hand to hand rewards. When you delve into Karrus Hakkrel (spelling?) you can try to farm Hrukstraz every day to get his knuckles. There are some decent Rare fistwraps you can get from Ceros Isles, just have to get lucky and get 3 pristine rhino hides. On a side not, while farming Ceros Isle, max out your rep as you can get a kick ass mask from having max faction. Hand of the God King is from Nusibe, another great knuckle weapon. The Rhaz Inkur has the best H2H weapon I have seen (pre "of Striking" nerf), Aluul's Claws.

Alll of our animations are bland imo. Before they revamped weapon graphics (and changed Zank to use 2 Hand Pierce) , I know at least Bladed Staves had some cool looking animations, especially Thousand Fists chain. It looked like you flipped the staff off your forearm, then grabbed it at the end. You actually appeared to hit the mob multiple times. I think each weapon should have a different animation for each attack personally. Well, maybe each weapon type  as opposed to actual weapon specialization.

Yes I remember that one! It DID look very cool.

Besides I just crit insanely with wraps. I just don't want to give away 7.5% of additional crit chance and added stats of two different weapons.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can Quivering Palm only fire off of a parry?

The RiTW activates the dodge counters.  These are nice dps as well, but I still find QP superior in most instances.  HI, dmg debuff makes a lotta difference, esp when we don't have a good way to heal ourselves.

Now, i will grant you: it's usage in group situations can be quite limited, as Kyomi pointed out with agro issues, but solo.. sheesh, that's one helluva great tool.  Especially with the upcoming RiTW nerf.  The 15 dps difference is the reason Folsarun's is bagged except to get its skill up a lil more.  Not because I find it that inherently inferior a weapon.

And also, in the space of 40 mins, I can grind out 20-30 coins midday on my lunch.  Add in quests and you can start getting the coins with good alacrity.

Yes, if mobs die faster, you don't need healing as much.  But that, imo, is where QP comes in.  I don't find it firing near as often using Zank as I did using Folsarun.
