Ok first you will need to create a new macro, I assume you all can make one of those. In that macro type this:

/Cast "Jin Surge IV" (where the I, II, III IV, is the current level of your skill)
/autoattacktoggle

Next you will need to drag your current level of Jin Surge skill to another hot bar. You won't use this skill it's just so that you can see when the refresh timer has reset as you cant see global or individual skill refresh timers on a macro.

This will allow you to Jin Surge and this use your attack of choice to receive the damage boost vs. auto attack consuming the Jin Surge.

Yeah I usually macro this to either Ashen Hand or Witherthing Fists for burst damage.

Works quite well, epsecially if you crit off of the attack.

If you are a harmonious monk you also add in/combatformset "Tiger Stance".
This will add even more damage if this is placed before any of the strikes are executed.

jin surge is of use?  I thought it boosted one attack by a bit of damage
At 27 I think its like 185 damage extra?  The way i saw it the jin wasted on it could be used on Ashen Hand.  Or have I misread it

I macroed this to the last ability in exploding heart line.....cant really see a difference...the bonus is minimal. It should double the dmg imo....

if you look at jin surge all it does is add 350 dmg to the next hit.  So if im right, PEH has a big hit up front then a dot.  Which leads me to beleive the big hit is going from 9k to 9.3k and the dots not being affected

Just checked, the first hit of peh is melee + 4.5k then a 5k dot.  So yeah jin surge adds to the  melee+4.5k

What about Deadly Adder Hand ?
the Jin surge will add to what ? the final damage ? or to each tick of the DoT ?
Because i dont remember that there is an initial damage with deadly adder hand.
If its to each tick of the DoT, harmo monks are once again over the top Smiley

deadly adder/feet of the fire dragon/gouging dragon  are all just dots with no inital dmg

so it adds the +350 to each tic of the dot

Has it been confirmed that this adds 350 damage to each tic of a dot?

yes it has been confirmed.

If the dot has no initial hit its fine.

Example.
Palm explodes the heart hits for melee + 5k, then 10k over 12seconds (totaly made that up).
Jin surge would add the 350 to the inital melee +5.35k

Example 2
Feet of hte fire dragon, 1800 dmg over 16 s (240ish every 3 seconds)
each tic goes up to 600 per tic

Jin surge adds 350 damage to everyone else in the raid too, I use it whenever its up.

Then again I'm not hurting for jin.  And  I always got a disciple in my pocket just in case.

ahh, I hadn't checked it but even if it is just your group its hardly useless for something that only costs 5 jin, that is two end abilities.
