I have been capping strength first, then dexterity, then the extra into constitution.  = dmg, crit, hp

in beta i tried vitatlity and not constitution for the in combat health regen but seems raw hit points were better then the hardly noticeable regen.

but, isn't con straight 1:1 conversion to hp? seems like a waste of points when every attribute except con has some sort of multiplier.

well, when you consider high vit = more hp regen than straight up hp, which you can compenstate for by itemization... so far, it seems to me, that no matter how many hps i have, the mobs tear through me like i'm wearing kleenex for armour, so it seems like high in-combat hp regen would help a bit.

Strength and Dexterity get maxed.
The rest get dumped into Con.

Constitution doesn't just add HP, it adds resistances that i bet will really add up at higher levels. Constitution also gives more HP per point at higher levels.

All that con is going to make a difference in every fight. Maybe not as much as you'd like, but consider the alternative stats that are useless...

Vitality:
*** In-combat health regen that is so insignificant you could max vitality to 50 and it still wouldn't have enough impact on your HP bar to make any difference during combat.
***The run speed increase, even at high levels of vitality, is also so insignificant it may as well not be there.
***You don't have any energy to regen, and this doesn't regen endurance.
***The one and only use of Vitality is that your ignore pain will heal for more, but why invest so many points in maximizing just one 5 minute refresh ability when you could significantly increase your survivability for every encounter by dumping points into con?

Intelligence: No real use for a monk. Technically it should help you see what enemies are targeting, but it's not worth putting points into.
I know that intel increases the effectiveness of taunts for paladins, but I have no idea if that applies to the taunt and detaunt abilities of the monk.

Wisdom: This certainly has no use for a monk. You have no energy bar and no spells. They should actually black out this stat and prevent monks from  accidentally wasting points here.

A psionist friend of mine, who runs deep on vitality, still haven't reached 100% in-combat HP regen (I'm not sure how high the stat is, but high 200, low 300 unbuffed I suppose).
Of course, that would mean you regenerated 2 HP / tick instead of 1 in combat.
At 40, constitution gives about 3 hp / con - and it's probably going to increase even more from there.
