They don't do as much DPS as fists.
They don't crit as often.

I have tried to like them, but always end up switching back to fists. The double damage on crits just isn't worth it.

I haven't tried one.  However their 2xdmg on Crit could be appealing, but that assumes it would 2x the crit of an ability used while it is equipped.  If you can toss Jin Surge in on top of that it could be impressive.

Keep in mind, none of that could be possible.  I'm just bored and delusional at work.

When i equip the bladed staff i have, my DPS as it is stated on the character pane goes up. It slows my white attacks down, but i seem to do a lot better crit dmg with the staff equipped.

I loved using 2h staves on EQ, but the way finishers rely so heavily on crits, using anything that doesn't increase critical percentage just feels...wrong. And I'd also heard the double crit damage won't affect certain skill crits if not all of them, however that was a while ago and could have been changed.
