Howdy guys! my first post here, i thought i should make it useful!

I ran some tests to see how the different weapon styles stack up to see which was best for DPS vs which was best for Defense, etc. I just hit lvl 19 so a few stats have gone up, but during my testing it didn't seem to make a huge difference. (as in h2h is 181 instead of 180, knuckles are 93 and martial staff is 90)
First of all, my current stats as a lvl 19 Monk (unbuffed of course)
Str = 131
Con = 91
Dex = 109
Vit = 50
Int = 39
Wisdom = 40
Weapon Types
2Hand Piercing = 83 (i dont like the way our 2hp weapons look

)
2Hand Slashing = 180
Hand 2 Hand = 181
Weapon Specializations
Martial Staff = 90
Martial Sword = 90
Ulak and Claws = 91
Knuckles = 93
Equipment Tested
Polished Knuckle Dusters = 12.56DPS (knuckles)
Sylvan Ulak = 10.67DPS (Ulak and Claws)
Griffon's Windblade = 10.55DPS (Martial Sword)
Sylvan Crescent Staff = 13.44DPS (Martial Staff)
Equipped - Polished Knuckle Dusters (Primary) empty (secondary)
Mainhand DPS = 51.40
SecondaryDPS= 26.5
Total= 77.9DPS
Equipped - Polished Knuckle Dusters (Primary) Sylvan Ulak (secondary)
Mainhand DPS= 53.02
SecondaryDPS = 22.00
Total= 75.02
Equipped - Sylvan Ulak (primary) Polished Knuckle Dusters (secondary)
Mainhand DPS = 45.78
Secondary DPS = 27.67
Total = 73.45
Equipped - Griffon's Windblade (primary)
Total DPS = 63.00
Equipped - Sylvan Crescent Staff (primary)
Total DPS = 79.00
DPS Conclusions - Well its still hard to say, the 2handed piercing weapons EASILY have the higher DPS. Even with comparable hand to hand weapons (and 2 of them) the 2HP gives the greatest DPS. HOWEVER, i do not have a parser and therefore i can't factor in the bonus to crits you get from using H2H weapons, so it could still be a toss up. What IS intersting however, is that when going h2h if you have a weapon in your secondary hand it LOWERS your overral DPS. So to get the best DPS out of hand2hand fighting you should use your highest DPS weapon in the main hand and keep the secondary hand empty it seems (unless both weapons have good stats and boost your str high enough to compensate for losing the DPS). However, 2 hand2hand weapons (one 12dps the other 10) still do not give higher DPS than a single 2hp weapon of 13DPS. Odd.
Defense
I will be looking at melee evasion only because thats the only thing our weapons effect i believe. Also im dragon monk but im not using my defensive stance, (im actually in offensive stance, i forgot to turn it off).
Equipped - Polished Knuckle Dusters (primary) empty (secondary)
Defense - 1578: Melee Evasion 15.56% (5.72% dodge, 5.72% parry)
Equipped - Polished Knuckle Dusters (Primary) Sylvan Ulak (secondary)
Defense - 1578: Melee Evasion 15.56% (5.72% dodge, 5.72% parry)
Notable is that when i looked at the secondary hand info, it says i suffer a 6.75% penalty to block, dodge and parry for dual wielding, however it didn't register in my defense.
Equipped - Griffons Windblade (primary)
Defense - 1954: Melee Evasion 25.69% (5.72% dodge, 17.05% parry)
The weapon says it has a 12% parry bonus against lvl 19s, it also says it has a 20% parry bonus against lvl 19s in yellow. Disregard the second one, because it looks like it uses the first listed value only. I guess its a bug.
Equipped - Sylvan Crescent Staff (primary)
Defense - 1578: Melee Evasion 15.56% (5.72% dodge, 5.72% parry)
Defensive conclusion - Windblades duh.
Overrall i hope this helps people out about what does what. 2handers for most DPS (unless you are going for crit DPS, then use hand2hand) and windblades for defense (duh!). I will edit and update as patches come in fixing things. Im sure dual wielding isn't suppose to drop you DPS

but we'll see what happens in the future!
