is there something you can enter into a macro to ensure autoattack is off? I'm trying to figure out a macro for nerve strike... so far I got...
/targetoffensive clear /autoattack /targetnearestnpc /cast "Nerve Strike II"
problem is if for some reason my auto attack is toggled off, it will togle back on.. or there is a timer... not sure what the entire issue is. is there a command to just stop attacking?

Since they changed crescent kick from the global refresh you can setup a macro which will chain it and another attack, providing you open up with the Crescent Kick. Two I find useful are:
/Cast "Crescent Kick IV" /Cast "Boundless Fist V"
OR
/Cast "Crescent Kick IV" /Cast "Iron Hand IV" /Cast "Boundless Fist V"
The first one will build 3 JIN every click for 30 endurance cost; the second will build 3 JIN but use 2 JIN for activating (refreshing) Iron Hand, but resulting in a net 1 JIN gain.
As a follow up attack Dragon Monks can use this one:
/Cast "Jin Surge IV" /Cast "Six Dragon's Strike III"
It will cost 5 JIN, but Six Dragon's Strike will return 1 JIN, total net cost 4 JIN. This attack will automaticly use Jin Surge on you and your allies, empowering the Six Dragon's Strike, which also exploits the Enraged weakness caused by the above Jin Building macro.

Anyone know how to loop macro's where you can have a running macro for quivering palm and backfist. I'm a drunken monk and I miss a LOT of backfists.

Fast loot macro change. Only need two lines now. /lootall /targetnextcorpse
Thats all you need to loot a body fully and target the next body and repeat. It closes the window now so no need for the close loot window lines.
Reactions hotkey. This works great for us with our parry based and dodge based reactions and also our crit chains all in one key. Even uses the advanced finisher too!
/reactionautocounter /reactionautochain
In that order your counter is used if for some reason all go off, counters to me are bit superior so just my preference. When you hear or see a chain/counter go off just hit this one hotkey. If you get the kick off the adv finisher opens and you can use the hotkey to activate that as well. Clears a ton of hotkey space and I actually get to use my counters a lot now instead of missing their fast cooldown.

Does this use longer cooldown finishers before the shorter ones? Like thousand fists if its up and flying kick if it isn't?

No sadly, just whatever is first avalable in a chain. But its mostly meant for normal kills where you just kinda spam abilities that come up and no real strategy. If you wanna use a specfici one you can always manually click it.

As drunken I have 2 sets of gear for pulling/tanking and dps'ing
ex. /combatformset "dodge/parry/armo stancer" (depending on ur discipline) /wear "parry sword" /wear "any evasion/hp gear"
Then a 2nd macro for when i want to dps with dps weapons and stance. Allows you to instantly switch gear when ur taking damage or going to pull, rather then shifting through bags. Think it encourages you to switch more often since you click 1 button, rather then stance + items.
*weapons will change while in combat, other gear you need to FD before changing*

i've got a question about macros so i thought it better to highjack this thread instead of creating a new one. anyway. i want to know if a comand exists that let you switch between the different action bars. from nuber 4 to nuber seven for example. or one up or one down.

Hotkey 2 (main endurance attacks): /combatformset "Crane Stance" /cast "Thousand Fists" /reactionautochain /cast "Stinging Backfist" /reactionautocounter /cast "Crescent Kick" /reactionautochain /cast "Boundless Fist"
Hotkey 3 (loot + rarely used skills): /cast "Deadly Adder Hand" /lootall /setwearpreference adventuring /combatformset "Harmonious Body Stance"
Hotkey 4(main Jin attacks): /combatformset "Tiger Stance" /cast "Thousand Fists" /reactionautochain /cast "Stinging Backfist" /reactionautochain /cast "Tiger Pounces" /cast "Ashen Hand"

These are my main macros that I use on my monk.
Edit: Anyone know a good way to macro Secret of Ice and Secret of fire?

I just had what I think is a great idea, but I am not near my computer so I can't try it out just yet, but tell me what u think!
okay so we know we should equip the double crit- 2hand weapons just before you click the crit button right? well a macro listed previously said you could use a macro like /reactionautocounter /reactionautochain to do any crits you get, so what about a macro like /wear "2-hand double crit weapon of uberness" /reactionautocounter /reactionautochain
?? would this work? what are ur opinons guys?
Lokii -Xeth-
ps sorry bout the horrible, grammar, confusion, layout etc i am in a hurry cuz i have to go take a test, so bear with me!

No, I don't think so. I recall having read somewhere that all commands in a macro are executed simultaneously, instead of in chronological order. The two-hander would get equipped first, then both abilities would go off is what I think would happen.

No commands in a macro go from the top of the list straight down to the bottom. What you are thinking of is that macros instantly go through each line without a pause.
Ala - a 12 line macro executes in <1 sec. However, to test that it truely goes from top to bottom make a harvest target macro
/target mithril /target true silver /target adamantine
Run around pressing the button and you notice it only targets mithril. The second an adamantine pops though it will be the only thing you can target even if there are 12 mithrils right infront of you.
