I've looked everywhere for some sort of discussion on this topic. However I'm sure someone with experience in the class can answer it accurately and quickly. As a level 12 monk I realized that my abilities consume only Jin and Endurance. However reading a monk build faq on ten ton hammer recommends raising Strength Dexterity and Vitality, and the reasoning it gives for raising vitality is:  "Vitality gives the Monk greater regeneration in combat so that he can use abilities more often". Use abilities more often, now mousing over the Vitality attribute on my character sheet it tells me that it increases my energy regeneration by 0.00%, my HUD custom UI shows my energy at a constant 0% which coupled with the fact that absolutely none of my abilities mention energy as an expenditure I'd assume the monk class does not use energy at all. So getting back to the monk class faq, and knowing that my abilities require Endurance and Jin (endurance being the only thing that self regains on a tick basis) What are they talking about when they say vitality allows you to use your abilities more often?

So to easily sum this up my questions herein are:
What does energy do for a monk, do we even use it?
Is there any way to increase the regen of endurance?
If energy is indeed unused for monks, why do some monk claws and ulaks have plus energy boosts?
If we do not have energy, then is the only positive effect of vitality for monks health regen in combat?

Thank you for your time, if you are looking for a link to that monk faq I'm referring to you can find it here http://vanguard.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=520

That guide was written way back in beta, and monks have since been changed.  Energy was completely removed from monks - we simply do not utilize energy.

Therefore it is useless to raise Vitality as monks, unless u value the in-combat HEALTH regen bonus VIT offers.
Note VIT has nothing to do with endurance regen.

Just raise Dex, then Str, then Con.
