I've been searching for a while for the fabled "hidden chains" but have found nothing as of yet. I'm wondering if this is simply because they aren't known (still only a few weeks in) or if I'm not seeing them? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Ciao.

My room mate is playing a disciple and has wandered over a couple of hidden chains.  He's currently a lvl 11 Raki Disciple.  I'm a lvl 18 DE Monk and haven't found any special chains.  Although on occasions there is a "scream" like someone is on fire while I'm fighting a mob and my finishers pop up as available even if I just used them (they still have to cool down).  I don't know if that's a hidden chain or something else.

It is kinda cool though.

That scream you are hearing is because you have a defensive target selected.  It is telling you that def target is under 25% health and has aggro.  It opens up your waning palm to try to help pull it off.  However waning palm is pretty useless

hmmmm, weird.  I'll have to look for that.  I don't remember who or what my defensive target was or what their health was at.  I don't normally use Waning palm anyway.

Thanks though.

Waning Palm is far from useless. 2 - 3 hits of it and cleric in my group drops aggro, and he isnt using his deaggro either.

I have noticed the screaming also. Ive had it occur solo before and duoed with a Drunken Style Monk guildmate and in full groupd. He said he has never noticed that with his style. Im a Dragon Style Monk and when the scream occurs its seems almost like going "berserk" you character will play a loud "Aghhh!" sound effect then all chains will become fully available for a short time. Ive had my character shout twice before in quick succesion, the effect triggering it all seems pretty rare if it is completely at random and not part of some secret "combination".

For example in a fight sometimes I hear the "Aghhhh!!" scream and all reactions will become available, you can even do "Kick of the Heavens I" then "Thundering Fists I" then "Flying Kick" completely out of order if you want. Your only limit seems to be endurance for the short time the effect is active. I think I was in storm dragon stance in all the times I have had it occur. Anyone else experiance this?

Soluss is correct.  It's related to the hp of your defensive target.

I'm curious if you have to have them as a defensive target when they drop below the screaming point or if you can toggle to them after they've gotten below that point and get the bonus.

Either way it's come in handy everytime it's happened.

You can just target them when you notice there health is down.  You wont here the scream to make you aware of it though.  What I useally do is when I see a mob take off for the healer (or squishy) I immediatly target that person with my F2 - F6 keys.  I then use it when I am able to.  Another thing I do is I see who it is that useually pulls aggro (if any do it often enough) and I keep that person targeted unless I need to switch. Hopefully the group I am in doesnt useally pull aggro off the tank though.  Reason for that is, I find that the assist macro I made sometimes gets buggy.  However if I keep the tank targeted I can just hit "F" and it will pull up his target.

I had some trouble with this 'scream' ability.
Sometimes it buggs and all my skills have a green edge around it and are ready to use (i dont even think it consumes endurance) but when i try to do any type of attack, my character doesnt want to do it.
So basically all my attacks are available but he wont execute them for some reason untill i use a buff.

These 'screams' have also made my reaction bar go completely haywire. Dropping skills out of the list, putting duplicate skills in my bar so i have 2 flying kicks instead of 1 flying and 1 thousand fist. The only way to solve it is to relog.

I wonder...I do sometimes hear the chain sounds even though non of the actual chains get available even if they would be. So, is that a hidden chain I hit then? I never noticed how I triggered it of course >_<

chains were broken before, if you clicked on a chain it wouldnt refresh it to the first before.  they seemed to have fixed it though.  it doesnt stay on your adv finisher but does go back to your 1st finisher now.

I tend to use jeering kick to grab mobs off of ppl it seems to do the job great, lets mob attack me and i have time to do some dmg before 2 turns are over.
