Currently i have a lvl 15 monk.

He uses the following weapons

2hand - Signal Clapper - 36-55 dmg , 3 speed (15 DPS)

1handers - Deadly Knuckles, 23-26 , 2.15 speed (11.16 DPS)
Claws of the Redcaps, 20-21, 2.20 speed (9.09 DPS)

Does having a 2hander mean having 15dps per hand? or 15 dps shared, making the 1 handers more.

Im trying to work this out because the 1handers are higher level weapons, yet when 1handers are equiped, i only get 36ish DPS, yet when the 2hander is equiped i get 56 DPS when hovering over my attack in player window.

Both my skills for these weapon types are the same. Why is the 1hand dps so low, even tho the weapons total more dps and are higher level?

I've been curious about something similar to this.  Do you sum up the DPS for mainhand and offhand?

Dose 15DPS on main hand and 15DPS on offhand == 30DPS (15 + 15) or is it computed differently.

That could explain why your 2 x 1handers looks like less (per hand) than the 2hander.

I'm fairly confident that it's simply a matter of adding main hand DPS to off-hand DPS to determine your overall DPS rating. Notice however that off-hand DPS is approximately half of your main hand.

With the upcoming change to bare fists, I suspect our bare fists DPS ratings will decrease slightly after the patch. The change makes sense because in it's current form, there's little reason to even look for weapons. While that's nice from a DPS perspective, it does kill the fun factor a bit. At least for me it does. Weapons have almost always been the one area that got me the most excited about in terms of upgrades.

Id feel better about it though if the primeir weapons in game didnt share disciple stats in effect makeing our quested heroic to legendary weapons contain stats that are +energy and +wisdom... rogues, rangers, bards, wars all have weapons that cycle around there needed stats.  We however only have half stats.  If they want to make weapons viable and nerf bare hands, that really is fine with me provided 2 things happen.

1. We get skills that take weapons into account

and

2. We get better itemization for monks.
