Vanguard Build 01666 Patch Notes 1/11/2007

GAMEPLAY
- Fix for another bug preventing martial swords from applying their parry bonus. It should really work now!
- You no longer have to wait for an empty corpse to decay before skinning it.
- For applicable NPC's /hail (default h key) and right click now behave the same
- Damage over time (DOT’s) spell damage has been significantly reduced for all NPC’s.
- For the purposes of balance data collection we have disabled epic critical hits for the remainder of beta. They will be coming back on just prior to release.
- PC melee special attack damage off by 5% bug fixed. This is a decrease in damage by 5%.
- Melee auto-attack damage is no longer normalized by weapon category, this means the strength and level portion of your melee damage while auto-attacking is now tied directly to your weapon speed. This was a bug with auto-attack damage. When duel wielding this includes your dual wield damage but does not significantly change dual wield damage. The best dual wield combinations remain nearly 20% higher damage when compared with 2-handed damage of equal caliber.

ADVENTURING
- Dread Knight – Added hate numbers to all DRK abilities. This should help you determine how effective your abilities are at taunting.
- Paladin - Prayer of Life can now only be used while out of combat.

CRAFTING
- Fixed problems where adding a grade A second ingredient to a grade A recipe result would yield grade B or below.
- Non-Kojani Outfitters no longer gain extra Kojani Tier Quest Faction. Kojani Outfitters will now gain faction when completing their own continent’s Tier Quests.
- Artificer and Outfitter refining stations have been placed at the Natmeg Enos bunker.
- The Tier Quests now properly check to make sure you have completed the prerequisites.

DIPLOMACY
- Added shoulders equipment slot. Shoulder items will temporarily equip in the empty slot between diplomacy rings.
- Raki diplomats can now receive the title “Deacon of the Raki” from Elder Sal if they have completed the raki newbie line.
- Gwealla’s journal and chest will now more consistently give out evidence. She has moved her journal to an easier to access location as well.
- Diplomacy: All players with greater than 100 skill have been moved to 100 skill, with the appropriate experience for that skill level. Players between 2-100 skill have been moved to 40 skill with appropriate experience. This repairs issues that were repaired last night in the attempt to repair issues with players having much too high skill levels and false experience totals, and is in conjunction with the coding fix for experience gain in Diplomacy.
- Diplomacy: Fai Lin Aurora now will teleport you to Mt. Faijin if you need to continue quests up there but fell off.
- Diplomacy: The Threecranes are now actually encased in crystal in Tanvu.
- Diplomacy: Civic Diplomacy is now active in Renton Keep and Khal!
- Diplomacy: Graag will no longer randomly leave this plane for the Umbra.
- Diplomacy: The three outworlder mercenaries in Lomshir now only will be at the building with the Traveler – not the fighting pit. Quests have been updated accordingly.
- Diplomacy: “Death Wears a False Mustache” should now be completable. Really. I mean it this time. For reals.
- Diplomacy: New quest explains how to use the orb in the varanthari newbie line.
- Diplomacy: The Kojani Human, Varanthari, and Thestran Human newbie lines now give out special gloves that give you free expression while worn. Other newbie lines will be upgraded in the coming days.

WORLD POPULATION
- Waypoints have been updated in most quests in Silverlake, Coastal Graveyard, Rindol Field, Tursh, and Trengal Keep.
- There is now a banker in Lakeview.
- Myrthion now has something to say.
- Increased the respawn times in Achatlan Lair and Jade Depths
- Added Travel Journal Entries to many Vault of Heroes and Veskal’s Exchange quests
- Vault of Heroes and Orcbane mines are now summonable inside
- Horse’s will no longer fit inside the Orcbane Mines or the Vault of Heroes.  Doorways size remains unchanged
- Aggro in the Verdant Lurker headquarters should be much more consistent now.
- The following areas have seen an itemization pass: Khal, Khal surroundings, Skawlra Rock, Ksavari Gultch, Ksavari Gultch surroundings, River Valley.
- Bordinar's Cleft - Bordinar’s Cleft quest rewards have been overhauled; minor tweaks to come
- Grimsea Watch - Gulgrethor Soldiers no longer wander around aimlessly in front of the Martok guard post
- Grimsea Watch - Mud Croaker Skin Potion uses in the quest “Supressing Canine Senses” now properly applies the intended shader on the imbiber
- Grimsea Watch - The “Blacktusk Bone Club” has been removed from the quest “Loth’s Lieutenant” to make room for a two-handed staff!
- Grimsea Watch - Injured Martok Soldiers have decided that standing on top of beds was not helping with their injuries
- Grimsea Watch - The Gulgrethor Worg patrolling around Narglok’s Encampment has become much more aware of those around him
- Grimsea Watch - The quest “My Associate Nicto” has been removed. Klatu and Verata unavailable for comment.
- Halgarad – Shield Unga should now be spawning.
- Halgarad - The following quests have been reworded/grammatically edited/brought up to current quest standards/had travel journal entries added:
 - Desecration (travel journal entry added)
 - The Shield
 - Beckon the Call (this quest has been renamed to “Call of the Giant”)
 - The Southern Outpost (travel journal entry added to help alleviate confusion)
 - The Southern Gate
 - Brute Force
 - The Alpha
 - Tooth and Nail
 - Broken Fang Paws
 - Broken Fang Instructors
- Halgarad - The gnoll camps around The Shield have had their respawn times adjusted. Repops should be more consistant. If you are experiencing in the Halgarad area erratic respawn times, please let us know on the messageboards.
- Halgarad - Fixed movement speeds on the Gnoll Sergeants and Gnoll Grunts. They should no longer chase you down at 300% movement speed, which is a good thing.
- Halgarad - On the other hand, the Gnoll Striker and Gnoll Assaulters now move at 300% of base movement speed. They are, however, on a script to only attack the guards. Be warned, if you’re crazy enough to step in their aggro radius they will unrelentingly run you down like a dog 300 times faster than you can run. Just an FYI.
- Halgarad - Fixed a bug where Bowman Dravis hits players with an AOE while attacking the aforementioned gnolls, thereby killing players who thought they were safe hanging out with the guards.
- Halgarad - Fixed various quirks in the assaulting gnoll’s and defending guard’s scripts. The entire encounter should behave more consistently.
- Halgarad - Added more gnolls in the Shield area to aid with various quests
- Halgarad - Fixed pathing for patrolling gnoll group in the area. They should no longer do the suicide dive into the pit spikes.
- Mekalia - Fingerpost and regular signs have been placed throughout the city to assist players in directions
- Mekalia - Quests have been added from Nenetcria Noxy to teach players where to find their respective class trainer
- Temple of Dailuk - The Kraelix, Xarkrafi, and Dailuk events in the Temple of Dailuk have been reworked to perform more consistently.
- Temple of Dailuk - That happy fellow hanging out in Temple of Dailuk, Vass Hago the Wyvern Prince, has been revamped. It's likely you will need two groups to attempt him. Itemization for said Wyvern Prince is still in the works.
- Temple of Dailuk -  Azara Shahab has a few more quests for willing adventurers at the Beacon of Azara Shahab.
- Wildgrowth Forest - Additional population has taken place to fill in some empty areas.

GUI
- You will now see a loading window if you have successfully connected and loaded the game but are still waiting on data from the server before you can play.
