how does adding/exploiting weaknesses in groups work, and dose any stance specialise more in adding weaknesses?

Feel free to move this and the above post to a new thread as it is a derail of sorts.........

The whole weakness thing is not style dependant.

Here is an example

My Monk can use boundless fist on a mob, using that creates a "Enraged" state on the Mob. My groupmate Mr. Rogue detects this and he knows that any time a mob is enraged his backstabs do more damage. So he then stabs the poor sod in the back for a gazillion points of damage. This of course creates a "Staggered" state on the mob which then take advantage of with Crescent Kick so its my turn to deal extra damage....etc etc.

To me its almost a mini game to work within your group to figure out the best chain of events to maximize your damage.

Here is an old post form the VG forums its not complete but you should get the idea.

I beta buffed a monk to 35 last night and noticed that it gave me multiple stances and as a result, I had LOTS of abilities.  I am assuming that this is not the case with a real monk?  If I am understanding this correctly, I will only have certain abilities depending on what stance I choose at lvl 15?  Or, will I get ALL abilities and can only USE the ones that relate to my stance?  Any clarification on this would be helpful.

You should have only the style in whch you chose, sounds like the beta buff toons got bugged or perhaps it was to give you a taste of all 3 styles. Either way it sounds interesting

Huh...  I only got dragon mastery skills when I buffed a test toon to 35.  The abilities I got occupied 7 pages in my book.  Did you get mastery skills and stances from all three or just the ones from dragon?

Does anyone know if you can buff (or change) to harmonious or drunken with a buffed character?

I buffed 2 Monks to 35.  The first had Dragon and Drunken stances while the second monk had Dragon and Harmonious.  So, only abilities that are labeled as "mastery" are specific to their stances?

HI guys first post. During Beta, we had the opportunity to switch styles (Dragon, Harmonious, Drunken). When you switched there was a bug that allowed you to keep and use alot of your previous styles abilities. So if you started with drunken and went harmonious you might still have some drunken style abilities available. However when meditating using the AUM skill you would only receive skills applicable to your current style.
I believe in the release game once you pick your style at 15 you are set. Shamans also pick their patron at 15 and there is no going back after that. So choose wisely. After 15 you will still get general skills(disciplines) of all styles but will only receive specialized (Mastery/Aum abilities) skills from your chosen style.
