Besides the helm, there are 4 items which you pretty much have no choice on.

Helm -- apw monk helm  (could get shylosia or admiral)
belt - apw monk set
wrist--apw monk set
gloves--apw monk set
legs--apw monk set

shoulders - radiant pauldrons/apw monk set
boots--boots of blackness
arms--vicus/kotasoth arms
chest --tunic of the risen >apw monk tunic

earring--12 legion, jewel of the swamp dragon (only 2 option)
ring -- ring of inhibition, berserk ring (you could use the knucklebone ring but its not as nice)
cloak --senators cloak
mask -- my preference WAS dresla> kotasoth mask, but with the change to secrets it might be back to kota>dresla
neck - griffon neck (at least get the heroic griffon, dont have to do the raid one)

But to clarify: i know - from reading here - that the 5-piece-proc is Fists of Celerity, but ... what would the 7 piece-bonus be? It seems not too desirable?

And about Necklace and Faceplate, 2 questions pop up here:

First, what's the effect of the griffon necklace for a monk? Is it any different to the one i got with my cleric? (bonus to Accuracy, to incoming Heals, ...?)

Second, by Kotasoth's mask you mean the questreward "Dragonslayer"?

+1 Endurance Regen
Spell mit +3%

That's a pretty big free bonus I reckon. Would have to be a big upgrade for item #7 to be used in favour of the class armor.

Also Masterwork Stalwart Healthy Signet of Devastation is a decent ring if you can get the dust: +29 str +140 HP +81 Melee Dmg plus the usual craft bonuses.
