Hey all....in my ongoing quest for a Vanguard main, my new monkey is 26 Harmonious.  Just finished all of Trengal Keep and the Hunter's League.  Overall I'm really enjoying the monk.  My monk and all my characters really is a DE...just love the dragon pet.  I know it's not the perfect race for a melee...but it's never stopped me before.

Question: I'm having trouble splitting mobs while pulling.  Could it be my level or is there some magical tactic I'm missing on this?  I've never really grouped with an awesome monk puller, and wondering if they've somehow changed it or if it's not even really in the VG vision of monks.  I have a 49 Bard and 50 BMG, really enjoy pulling with the Bard with the full complement of Lull, Mez and Charm.  With the monk was thinking it would be easier, without a reliable stun method at 26.

My tactic is to use shuikens at range, tag a mob with Secret of Ice snare or stun then FD and wait popup and hit the snared mob again with another shuriken.  Could be my level, at 24 in TK the mobs are still a good 2-4 lvls higher than me and FD would more often than not fail and i end up being beaten to a pulp.

Thanks in advance...

Few things
1) Theres no great way to pull with just one monk in a small group, your best technique is pretty much what you said, its easier for people with lull to pull in groups then for monks atm.

2) It is in the vision to eventually allow for actual split pulling but not anytime soon.

Macro that might help you.

/cast "Storm Stride"
/cast "Crescent Kick #"
/cast "Feign Death #"

This ports you behind the mob and feigns you. You might want to use Reed In the Wind before doing so incase Feign Fails. Break Feign with your Nerve Strike, run the mob back to the group, once the tank tags it fd. If no one else got aggro while the mobs are together and no one casts a heal on you before you feign, should be minus 1 mob from what you were pulling.

That's exactly what I do in my duo when possible.

Granted it falls apart if they are immune to stuns etc. but sometimes there are ways around that with items such as the "mez potions" in RI.

Also if there are casters present in the mix they sometimes run or react at different paces when casting spells and you can sometimes get a good spread going by flopping and standing up repeatedly.  Of course with how glitchy FD is this can be VERY risky but I've done it on more than one occasion.  In those cases having long range or quested shuriken helps a lot.
