Ok so whats the end answer? Graystone vs Stormslam vs 2x flawless fist wraps of striking vs crafted staff(lvl48) ones. Whats the best dps for group and which is best for solo? I am really clueless even after reading every discussions on weapons

i would go with the graystone staff its a pretty cool weapon and and far as the wraps with striking there a nice pair to have but depending on ur situation if u can get a pair go for it but i wouldnt go bankrupt over the wraps or the crafted staffs.

stormslam over graystone i dont think so Shocked,, if i remember correctly. did they ever nerf the qeust on that i know when i did it all i needed was to get to the part of the qeust where i need certain # of writs to spawn each mob if u just get the qeust and if u or anyone in ur grp has all the writs then the whole grp who has that part of the qeust get credit and can get there graystone weapon angel

On that note, it would be nice if they let you decon all the rot gear and make it into these dusts.  5 months and 2 dusts, but over 60 rotted items.

Like I said on vgplayers I disagree with you Fujitsu I don't think these should be changed at all.  It is the crystal that is legendary which is then crafted with heroic materials and other crystals, not a legendary dropped staff, therefore only the stat/proc/whatever the crystal gives should be "legendary".  The increase in item level does give a 30 point boost to its damage already, but I agree with the devs that the majority of the points from the upgrade should go into that crystals specific role, making them situational (the situation for yours just doesn't exist in game currently, but that is just bad luck on your end hopefully they will add in evasive mobs in the future).

My condolences to you for getting an acc crystal.  The devastion staff is quite nice and ups my damage considerably over my graystone.

Real monks use hand to hand, but I have no qualms about macroing it for some of my macros and for DS fights etc.

God your so  clueless dude.

Its not even crafted with heroic stuff, you dont even do an upgrade.  Normally you add the resonating crystal which yields a blue weapon, then you upgrade it to heroic.  For these the second you add the resonating crystal it turns legendary.  the crystal it self is rare as hell, in 6 months we have gotten 2 crystals of wind, 1 accuracy, and 1 enraging.  That alone is just as rare as any apw/raid loot weapon, there is no reason it shouldnt be as good as an apw weapon.

Hmmm, because they are crystals and they are of legendary power (10 accuracy rating and +30 damage from one crystal is legendary), they are just not damage gear.  It is like you wearing a ton of hp regen gear and whining about your damage.

At least you have good accuracy now right?  Grin  (plus I'd wager that even with the ~4% damage rating you got with your staff it is still better than graystone).

I don't care how rare it is, it is an accuracy crystal, the ae proc crystals are pretty rare too but I'm not gonna go throw one on my staff and then cry all over the boards.

Anyways I like my new staff, I doubt they will change it, good for the devs for putting in some item diversity by making our masterwork staffs role specific rather than making our other apw hand to hand weapons obsolete.

Considering the extreme rarity of the crystals to drop...there is no way they would make apw h2h weapons obsolete.

My guild has yet to see ONE crystal drop, let alone one that could be used on a handwrap or claw.

But to look at it from a remotely practical point of view.  Even if you got an ancient crstal, even if it could be used on handwraps or worse still claws, the final level of the item would be lower than the enorcer or choking grasp and thus still more than likely be notably inferior.  So even if they dropped like candy it would STILL not make the apw h2h weaps obsolete.

That said considering their extreme rarity it would be nice if they were used as catalyst on an upgrade recipie to boost the item thus still allowing the crafter freedom to customize.  Or at least only drop with useful crystals.  I'm pretty sure with my luck when we finally get one it will be something like ancient crystals of conjuration.  Wink
