I am currently pulling my guild through apw and I'm noticing that FD fails... alot. I seem to remember getting some gear way back when from like hunters league or something that had +something to Feign Death.

My quests are:

A.) Does something like that help at 50 in APW?

B.) Is there high end gear that has such a stat?

Thanks

No real worrying fd gear in game, nothing adds anything to actual skill

There is nothing to add to your gear, but if you want gear to help you survive pulling in APW there is gear you can get to help you with that.

At the moment be warned before making any crafted gear that there is currently a bug involving feign death and damage shields, the damage shield procs late causing you to lose your successful FD.

This is most evident when you are FD warping (storm stride + crescent kick + FD), I discussed it with a GM and he said that this is not intended and is being worked on.. but at the moment you are best off avoiding crafted with a full continental effect on it (they all have a damage shield)

You can however get the lucent set which has + evasion and mit

as well as boon of health gear in a lot of slots (which all in all isn't that helpful since you are gonna hit for 2k+ each time, but it has saved me a couple times).

And superior crafted avoidance gear in several slots (if I don't fully upgrade the gear I don't get the damage shield part).

I also plan on making a fistwrap with earth's touch on it (-50% movement) for certain pulls where I warp pull.

Other than that depending on your choice of style you can go into defensive stance (which I guess is a no brainer), pop sun dragon's corona if you are dragon for fire elementals and tank them all day long, and generally make good use of your soaring leap.

In the end I still die a lot, but all these things do help me.

Plus, Dalkain's Ring (that used to be 8 CON, 70 FD) got revamped to:

9 CON
15 Melee accuracy rating (0.41% at level 50)
7 Melee critical rating (0.17% at level 50)
9 Melee damage rating (0.24% at level 50)

without any notice in the patch notes. Avarem had said it would become something useful for Monks - guess not so. There's no point in getting the item now.

Seems FD also breaks if someone casts HoT on you before u FD. (Not sure if its cast on u AFTER u fd)
HoT = heal over time for those who doesnt know.

With dalkain's ring getting back their FD, will the same be said for other gear, I know there were some level 15 shoulders or something with +FD on them.  Anyone have any of these items they could test out?

Anyone have a chance to test if Dalkain's ring(s) actually work? They definitely got the 2% stat written on them at least.

The nature of fd is tricky

95 success rate vs a lvl 50.  -5% for each level over 50

ala apw lvl 53 mobs, is 80% success rate.

Lastly it depends if its a 2% increase or a 2% mod.

AKA either 80+2 = 82% vs apw or 81.6%

I had a ring and need to camp it again since i deleted it, but on test i didnt really notice it working, because i still failed FD on lvl 35-40s.  I didnt get a run on the numbers but i was upset even by a 1/40 fail rate

I imagine there is a built in guaranteed fail % chance so it is never 100%.
It is I imagine a difficult thing to really test with certainty. I just remember the discussion here where teh devs were quoted saying there is no mod to increase FD despite it being on some gear.

I spent a few hours roaming Karrus Hakrel last week in case though. 84% vs 53s would be a nice change, adn I'd live with 83.2% too Tongue

Not certain it would be worth removing lucent mitigation & APW ring but probably would if confirmed that they work.
If I get time this weekend I'll try FD-ing 100 times near an altar in APW  to get some statistics.

i have to recamp the rings, which means i have to wait for a day off work AND raiding ;-p
84% is nicer for sure, but i seem to die more often holding a mob while people split off me then i do from failed fd.   It be nice if they added a few fd mods to some of our class set.

Yeah im in the same boat as you Fuji,Most my deaths come from me holding a caster  while the other person takes it to the raid and tries to loose agro or i simply run outa skills avail on a melee mob.Although i sit usually between 84-97 pct max xp and only regrind back maybe once a month so i wont complain Smiley
