I am getting mixed answers on this so I havent replied till now on this until I get more infoz

~QTM

I been trying for these answers for a couple months now, so if you get them fill me in to pls.  I believe it's capped and I've heard 35% and I've heard 65%, but my parsing shows a number closer to 50%, so it could go either way.
17  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Upcomming Raid-based Changes on: December 06, 2007, 01:11:05 PM
I just want to shed some light on why they are doing this incase you didn't already know.

That way if you are going to be suggesting changes you will understand what they are trying to remedy.

Appearently a guild or guilds were completely gimping encounters by just having everyone who had any form of these force taunts to spam them non-stop in conjunction with their dodge/parry/evade/block abilities.

This would cause the mob to just ping-pong all over the place and only get 1 attack per target (which would be evaded or heavily mitigated). As lame as this sounds believe it or not guild(s) actually did this in order to take down boss mobs.

So these are changes are a very solid implimentation which if they work correctly will eliminate this kind of.. I don't know what to call it other than gimping.

It also completely negated the concept of agro control allowing DPS to pretty much have their way without fear of agro.  It had to be done, but the issue now is that some classes where defacto top in this field and now have been nerfed as wwell as the fact that the lag in APW makes it very difficult to re-obtain agro should the tank die.

No worries mate.  Ask your buddy to just post a link to the main guide, not a copy and paste though Smiley

Please remove this post from the site.  I will be maintaining the version at vgplayers.com and will be editing it daily for the next several months.  I ask that it not be reproduced on other sites ESPECIALLY WHEN NO CREDIT IS GIVEN.  If you like, you may link to the original post on vgplayers.

Thanks.

The table was so terrible, in fact, that I simply couldn't selectively copy and paste into another program to resolve it. I might have a look at this tomorrow if I'm really motivated. I've already registered and posted what I'm posting here now.

I've reformatted the chart so it wraps more easily, but it's not really copy / pastable so check it out again when you get the chance and let me know how it looks.  I've also gone ahead and made the table available in Excel Spreadsheet format on Google Docs:  http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pxHmsrMOAWOJnuVfp78UtUA   (I think i did, first time using it so let me know if it's not letting you view and I'll try and get it hosted on vgbards)

anyways any bets on blades of wraith wiping on there first try when  apw goes live? angel

Probably, and with 200+ people in the entrance foyers, I would imagine everyone else will to.  Not sure what that has to do with the present conversation, but that's my 2 cents.

Please respond at VGBard's in the discussion thread.  Dev's will be checking the 5  posts I have created for feedback.   Thanks!

VGBards is hosting a feedback session for all medium class armor wearers.  I have posted screenshots of all six sets of medium class armor sets (Bard, Disciple, Monk, Ranger, Rogue, Shaman) and will be collecting feedback on each set. All feedback gathered will be forwarded / read by the APW Developers in order to help facilitate their class set itemization.  Please continue reading and then click the link below to view the screenshots and offer your opinions.

There are a few notes regarding armor sets:

1.  They are only Beta versions of the armor set and are based off of initial player feedback.  They are not the final version nor are they reflective of the final version.  The provided feedback threads will help to better tune them to each specific class.

2.  It was decided today (Nov 5) that all class armor sets would be made class specific.  Therefore, you will not be able to mix and match from other class sets (ie..discple's can't wear the monk set).  They will be specifically designed for the class that they are intended for.  Keep that in mind when you see multiple classes listed as being able to wear the items.

3.  The armor sets are NOT designed to be the end all, be all gear for APW.  Boss mobs will be itemized to drop 1 pattern for the quested armor per kill.  The harder the boss, the better the pattern type.  Think of these more as filler armor until you get the really rare item you want.  As such, they will be very general in adapting to a class...ie, they will reflect the over all rounded stats of a class as opposed to focusing on one aspect of a class.

Very nicely done Fujitsu!  To help fill in the gaps and save you some time I can provide you with the following info:

- When Duel Wielding your main hand weapon does 100% of it's damage and your offhand will do 50% of it's damage.
- When Duel WIelding Your main hand recieves 100% of your Strength bonus and your offhand receives 50% of your strength bonus.  In other words, duel wielding gives you 150% strength bonus.  This is better than the returns for 2H (see below)
- When Duel Wielding, +damage is added at 100% it's value and split between the two weapons at a rate of approximately 66% of the +damage to main and 33% of the +damage to the offhand.  The end effect is that you don't get any additional benifits from +damage by duel-wielding vs 2H.  (This is direct +damage such as from buffs or bard song, not +melee damage focus which has a completely different rule set).

- When using 2H you receieve 120% of the Strength bonus.  (this is true for tanks, it might be a bit different for monks).
- When using 2H you receive a flat 100% +damage bonus.
- The overall damage of 2H weapons are much higher than two 1H's added together.  However, on the character sheet, melee attack is a combination of weapon damage + strength and is only representative of your "auto-attack" or white damage.  The result, due to the 150% str bonus recieved from Str, is that duel-wielding will actually appear to do more damage than the 2H.  This is slightly incorrect depending on your play style and endurance regen.  Because special attacks for the most part don't use "melee damage" (ie, weapon + str + +damage) and instead rely on only weapon damage, 2H will often prove the superior DPS when used in conjuction with special attacks.  This is especially true when endurance regen gear / buffs are used and special attacks can be spammed.
