Put it in a toolbar or hotbutton, find out the "name" of that spot. Bind "X" to it in the options < controls. Trial and error seems to be the best method for narrowing down a "slot name."

Higher end martial swords do have the 5% crit on them.

Crafted shurikens of the "light" variety have a range of 35 meters. 1 ore(ingot) makes 600 shurkien. That and you can also modify the damage types to whatever you want. Say all your gear is Qalian style and gives a bonus for slashing damage, then mod your throwing weapons to deal slashing damage. Whether or not Qalian style is actually slashing damage I cannot remember. If the quested 30m range shuriken end up doing 1500 damage as it states then they are absolutely superior, but for now go with crafted. Cheers
