1  Disciple Discussion / Disciple General / Re: Bonds? on: February 20, 2007, 02:13:17 PM
I have noticed the same thing, and have not come up with an answer either.  One thought I have is maybe it cancels of you run out of jin for some reason, but I haven't tested it to any extent.  Also, I was dissapointed to learn the endurance draining one (leech?) only drains 5 per 3 seconds as opposed to 105 like the tooltip says (although I didn't really expect it to be so powerful anyway) .
2  Disciple Discussion / Disciple General / Point distribution? on: February 14, 2007, 06:31:00 PM
I've been playing a Disc lately when not on my monk main, and I am pondering what attributes to use my points in.  I am hesitant in putting it in dex or str since we get our main buff for those, but as a human I have 15 to use and while I will probably max out Con, vit and int seem less than useful and wis not far behind.  What I don't understand is why wis is presumably such a good stat for Disciples (judging from initial points).  All I can see benefiting from it is the extra energy, as we have no counterspells and/or offensive spells to benefit from increased crits (edit:  I know there are a couple DD's later on in life but only a couple).

At the moment I am thinking to max out con and vit and then split the difference between str and dex.  Any advice?
3  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Stance bonuses missing! on: February 14, 2007, 04:22:25 AM
Those were my thoughts, as I'm on a pvp server I would find it helpful to have my jin full whenever running from one place to another, so I can frontload as much damage as possible if I run into someone.

Also, it is just me or is crane by far the best stance out of them all?  Unless I'm reading it wrong, your damage over time actually goes UP by 5%, since even though each hit is for less, you can use more over time, not to mention the defensive bonuses are greater than the supposed "tanking" specialty (drunken sway).

How fast is the Jin regen in the harmonious stance?  From the sound of it doesn't seem like much...
5  Monk Discussion / Monk Tactics & Techniques / Storm Stride working correctly? on: February 03, 2007, 05:52:27 AM
Whenever I try to use storm stride on an enemy it doesn't teleport me behind like it says in the description.  Instead the attack just lands as if it were a ranged attack but I don't teleport anywhere.  Does anyone else have this problem, or know how to fix it?  Smiley
6  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Would you welcome Disciples to our community? on: January 30, 2007, 03:03:28 PM
Disciples need some website lovin.  Smiley  I'd love to see them get as generous of a treatment monks have gotten here.
7  General Topics / Player vs Player / Best style for PvP? on: January 24, 2007, 07:09:56 PM
I was curious if anyone had experience with the various styles in pvp, and what they preferred.  I have heard dragon is the best which makes sense since the faster you kill the better, but I don't know if this is true after damage was lowered across the board.

I'm assuming drunken is probably the worst since you don't need taunts and such in pvp (unless they do something akin to EQ2 - forced targetting)  But can't decide about harmonious.  Any opinions?  Smiley
