1  Monk Discussion / Monk Gear & Equipment / Re: Panther mask on: June 18, 2007, 03:44:47 PM
I disagree MBChrono, and I asked if there was a reason to state it.  Getting an item 'just to get it' imo isn't smart, and I think I have probably saved people time that they can be doing something better with thier probably already low playtime.  It didn't take an hour or two, I 2-box and it took about twice that time or more.  Plus if your competing with others for faction, it is even longer.

And thank you Quinn for stating one reason to get it; that is if you like panther illusion.  But otherwise, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.  Smiley

This item is worthless for monks to get.  Does not stack with our run speed ability, nor mounts.  No I'm not just learning about this, but I am just now posting about it.  Do not quest this item you will be wasting your time.  I wish I maybe have just overlooked a good use for it, correct me if I am wrong Smiley

Aye, last night we worked on faction; I am at 1300 Celestine Ward  Cry

Sounds like a cool item and the armor will be nice as I delve into the 40's.

Ahh very cool, I have finished 'weapons of leth verael', which leads me to believe I am close Smiley

Thanks Ciro for your response~

Saw it twice, only regret was I didn't see it at the Imax Theatre.  I also saw on the History channel a program that had historians recreating the historical events from what we know really happened, and I was amazed to see how right on 300 and Frank Millers version was.  Very historically accurate IMO.

Talk about a tough movie.

I have been thumbing through the different threads and posts, and a few items mentioned have thrilled me to ask - is there quests for these items???  If so, a little infoZ would be sweet and I'm sure appreciated by the Monk population.

-An Orb that summons Shurikens

-Xennu Power Boots

I was unable to see any info other than the teaser that they might exist.

Thanks for any help ma fellow Monkeys can offer up Smiley

I like the ability to pull and split mobs, its an art and hey, its fun.  Your not always going to have a bard, at least in single groups anyway.  It gives me a sense of crowd control.  Pulling in conjunction with Nerve Strike, and SUPER JUMP...I'm into it.  Has 'fun' written all over it.

We need a 'stun' or 'interrupt' ability that isn't tacked onto another ability (Secret of Ice - which only has a 'chance' to stun for 2 seconds).  I want it for interupting casters, and although I don't PvP, may be used for that.

Bottom line is I'm having fun, in theory any changes made are going to improve my good time.

The nice thing about Drunken Style is that I have ended up tanking for my static group of rl friends (my rl friend made a warrior then switched to necro Tongue), so it is great for defense.  The Hayatet Shaman is nice because it offers more dps to make up for lack of with monk, and shammy will never solo.

Seems to be 'so far so good'.
9  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Drunken Monk Style at 50, my thoughts. on: June 02, 2007, 12:38:56 PM
HA!  I love the drinking idea Shengyi.

I am Drunken Monk lvl 36, and although I have a bit of a sheltered opinion (i.e. still need end abilities, haven't tanked lvl 53 5-6 dots and so on), so far it's been fantastic.  I 2-box a Hayatet Shaman, and my static group is BM, Necro and Ranger with room for one more.  I tank 99% of the time when I play, and I got to tell ya so far I don't regret not making a defensive fighter in this MMO.

Now I have 14 lvls to go before I can really form a good solid opinion on the 'tanking' aspect, but so far it hasn't been an issue.  We never feel like we need to get a plate tank to join us, I have been able to do everything up till now (I realize this could change).

Also, my group is pretty ideal; 2 nice dps, 2 healers, and me.  Gets the job done quick.

Skinny dippin' in a sea of Lee!

Alright I went and picked the most common Asian guy name I could, and you guessed right, I am Kojani...

I two-box a Hayatet Shaman, Lee is a Drunken Monk, and so far its been a great duo, and no they are not ambiguously gay, although it would seem otherwise...Varanthari Barbarians don't play like that Tongue

Lee - 36 Drunken Monk
Brahma - 35 Hayatet Shaman
