76  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: what do we want with pushing hands? on: November 30, 2007, 06:11:25 PM
Problem with a cooldown is that several mobs (few bosses too) require the skill to be used several times to knock out the stance, and leaving the mobs stance up is not a wise idea..so much so that it can quickly wipe a raid. From the many tests with this skill i have done on different encounters the skill works just fine as it is,som mobs are easier to knock out of their stance..some take quite a bit (having more then 1 class using the skill helps a ton )

The update is Reed in the Wind 3.Im not 100 pct sure but i believe that you must have Reed in the Wind 2 to get the update.
Reed In the Wind 2 can be found in Dargons Tomb off the roachlike critters inside.
Hope this helps
82  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Your Chance To Speak - Medium Class Armor from APW on: November 10, 2007, 06:01:49 AM
The armor set bonus are now active and as  follows

Furious Order - Gained from haveing 3 pieces of the set
+5 Con
+10 dex
+25 physical resistance

Flow of Tranquility
Gained from having 5 pieces of the set
5 percent chance on attack to self buff +25 percent refresh timers for 8 seconds

They are debating on adding a Possible 7 armor bonus but dont want to make it so the gear keeps people from upgrading it in future because of the bonus buffs.
So at this time as long as you keep any 5 pieces of the set worn out of the 9 you can keep the bonus effects,
This leaves plenty of room for any dropped gear to go into slots that one would feel a certian piece doesnt live up to what someone thinks is not as good as it can be

I was generally speaking...not refering to any post  as i was surprised lastnight when i hit it by mistake when a chain was up and it didnt cancel the chain is all i was saying.

There is several boss fights where mobs get into stances and those stances not being removed can eventually wipe a raid..there is also enchantments which certian casters  cast to take them out.
Push hands takes the mobs out of the stance. Rangers i think also get a similar skill

I agree with hp  and no evasion on the gear (as i said in post with changes to ritw and others evasion is not really needed as much) Hp however is still low on that set was my overall point. My thought is that there will be one of the worn effects giving more hp or at least i hope this is the case.

Jin surge, totally bad ass on test right now.
It currently works on chain finishers ,can even go 2 steps into a chain then pop jin surge then final part of chain
I tested it on all dunken chains in every spot possible and works every time.

The only thing that bothers me about the look is how close the rogue and ranger stuff look aswell , they are pretty much similar but different colors and the pattern is slightly different.

few SS of the test armor and how it looks  (got permission via a  dev to post this and he wanted some feedback on what we think)

No idea on your guild set up but in ours the monks are the pullers. We consistantly pull (2 monks working the splits) and bring everything in 1 - 2 at a time at a nice steady pace. Hp and evasion help this flow nicely for our guild(although with the fixes to reed in the wind and drunken stagger/find the center evasion i think is not needed now on gear to some point) the only time we steady dps is on the boss mobs. so to a point i agree with you on the evasion part on the gear... although i really think it needs hp be it through con or direct.

Just my thoughts

My only issue with the monk set was the lack of HP thru con or direct hp on it.
With my current setup on raid test(98 pct i have on live ) i lost about 600 hp.
For the effort it takes for this gear it drasticaly improves all aspects of areas except the hp,
while to some of you this might seem minimal i would say that during pulls even at 10kish hp i was being 1-2shot on many pulls ..espec the caster mobs who tend to not come at you instead they range you.
HP will be very much needed inside of APW
Other then that small issue the monk gear was well though out
