1  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Drunken Monks Role on: May 14, 2008, 03:00:27 PM
Drunken are the masters of Misdirection and lead the enemy to attack how they want them to attack,That said i would not mind seeing a few skill short duration raid buffs causing greater damage to a mob(please not as short as jin surge though where its wasted on petty attacks). They do this by forcing a mob to move in ways that opens areas where people can take better advantage of their hits on said mobs.
If this is not the path they end up going id like to see maybe a mix of hate xfer and better survivability in raid situations, even if it comes at a miner dps loss. When i made my drunken i made it with the thought that it would be a better surviving style monk over the other two.
Anyway just my 2 cents

Stances are the hardest thing to try and get changed IMO. I really don't like how the 'tanking monk' cannot tank anything in APW, I think it needs to be compensated. With errant strikes losing some of its fire power, I really think they need some other abilities on their hotbar they can use. Also the Dragon monk isn't the DPS or AE monk. I have a few tweaks in current Dragon abilities that I can hopefully push through to make them a better DPS class and give them some unique AoE's. I'm fairly happy with Harmonious monks and where they are, few minor tweaks I'd like to see go in regarding their abilities.

But you can bet your little monk wraps I'm going to be /poke'ing them everyday after this melee crap gets settled for some monk love.

Im Glad to hear that you are pushing for some kind of tweeks because its been a long time since we last saw any.
Overall as a drunken i am happy and with some of the proposed ideas you have in here maybe they will get in and be viable additions to our class specific skills. As for tanking in APW I personally do not see that as how i plan to use the defensive abilities. For me its all about surviving till the next pull is in and safely able to get a heal.
So far im glad to have you leading our class and the rest of us should acknowledge that you are working to get us where we should be.
Just a Drunkens two cents

Great to hear from ya on this Fusoya,I am glad to hear that Rogues and monks will be in their position for melee.
Im sure we all look foreward to the post you are awaiting approval on.

I think its wrong for rangers to ever be ahead of us in the dps area.
Rangers can buff thier groups with at least 3 raid benifical buff types, spot heal any player, range dps better then monks and already get better Itemization via weapons and overall gear drops(ie they dont share 80 pct of drops with a healer type)
To give rangers all of that and then out dps us i think is a slap in the face to all monks. Sure we can pull better(though it really takes 2 monks to do this properly and be efficiant.
Just my 2 cents

No problem sung,I appologize also if i seem out of my norm. Its really a combination of frustration with my pain medicine(cough medicine with codine).
Anyway im just tired of hearing all the BS  and then seeing retatrded mounts going when the time spent on it needed to be on serious bugs
As for dps its always been my belief that as aviar posted it really needs to be interchangable to some point(keeping in mind utility brought with the dps)
The best news i have seen so far though is that we have a active CL and when the stuff hits  the test server there will be a monk that will be used to take  results from on tests.
6  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Parse data on: April 24, 2008, 04:21:19 PM
Nice try sung,Only reason we have not killed kota is due to loss of players(key players)
After GU4 we lost 2 full raid geard bards 1 raid geared monk and several raid geared casters, you of all people should know what you say is bs cause you finally got kota since last week due to roster reasons too.
Anyway since then we have found 1 new bard(needs gear) and 1 monk (partially geared now) so dont worry sung we will be back killing kota in no time..Thanks for making sure you keep up on what we do.
7  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Parse data on: April 24, 2008, 04:12:42 PM
Yeah sung i over did it on purpose.Im just sick and tired of hearing constant dps this and dps that.Fix the stupid bugs first like for example the magicborn abomination zonning..talk to npc ..npc casts spell and nobody gets ported.
Hail him again and he says you must wait,And guess what ,even after the area resets you still have to wait an additional 20 mins because it bugged (nothing tells all the spawns from magicborn to despawn when the area resets)
Frustrated i am
It gets old fast
I am growing tired of it

Dunno ask sung ..he knows where we all should be on the pole but from reading his posts that the way i take it
9  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Parse data on: April 24, 2008, 03:01:06 PM
Sung:
yes melee have a cleric and bear shaman.  The monks, i am using 1 crafted, and legions,...the other is using 2x legendary dual wielders....  This was using both the dmg buffs x2 (at the start and again at the end) so i really cant get more then that.  a monk would have to be buged with no agro and infinite endurance to do more.   Melee had all buffs, bear shm, cleric, bard, blood mage, etc (i took the +86 dmg and other monk took the jolt)

Sorc has all buffs, a bard, and i think it was a blood mage healer. (with bird shm buffs)

I dont know, i dont think a sorc should be doing the same dps as a bard, which is about 3k

I do over 7k on 99 and I'm not bugged.
Well acording to sung and dev buddies you are doing 5k to much dps
10  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Nerf Monks? on: April 15, 2008, 02:51:42 PM
Fusoya is a good monk. he may not know it but i have grouped with him when he was leveling.(i was on a alt  after being bored at lvl 50 as a monk for sometime)
Good luck on the new position and hope you work to show our concerns to the devs.
11  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Nerf Monks? on: April 15, 2008, 11:44:54 AM
Lol ,well the "people" i got seem to be wrong, although all they really told me was they were approached by certian person and asked about  Fujitsu..any rate Good Luck Fusoya with the Job.

14  Monk Discussion / Monk Gear & Equipment / Re: New Monk Weapon From Griffon Quest on: March 23, 2008, 08:12:36 PM
Its because No other dps Based class is forced to share their weapon with a healer type class.Devs take the cheap way out buy just making a generic set for monk/dsc instead of making 2 sets one for healer and one for dps.
15  Monk Discussion / Monk Gear & Equipment / Re: Feign Death Gear? on: March 12, 2008, 04:12:32 PM
Yeah im in the same boat as you Fuji,Most my deaths come from me holding a caster  while the other person takes it to the raid and tries to loose agro or i simply run outa skills avail on a melee mob.Although i sit usually between 84-97 pct max xp and only regrind back maybe once a month so i wont complain Smiley
