1  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Pulling in APW on: December 22, 2007, 08:13:14 AM
we are up to vicus and have not had to fd split any yet, if you can inform me if further in we will have to fd split for sure.

please pm me here or on xeth or if you feel secure enough to state it openly . will need to do some work as i am one of 2 monks but the other rarely logs on.

There are mobs that you could have split up to that point -- but there were other ways to pull them.  There are mobs you have to split after that.  Absent a second monk a Necro can help you split.   Or you can split yourself if you've got a really long way to pull.  Single pulling to split usually requires multiple fds and a long way to run.

Two monks is far and away the easiest.

I would suggest that for the couple of times you could have split up to that point that you have your guild try and let you split them for practice.

3  Monk Discussion / Monk Gear & Equipment / Re: What weapons are you using? on: April 06, 2007, 12:21:18 PM

www.vgdb.org

Should at that at 43 I use Hrukstraz' serrated shinbones and hierloom pugalist wraps.  Sometimes I swap out the wraps for Claws of the beastlord.

pushing hands- costs too much endurance

I'll by bite.  What does pushing hands actually do?  I thought it was a counterspell but I've never seen an effect.
5  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Drunken Monk Style at 50, my thoughts. on: April 04, 2007, 07:14:28 AM
Agree about Errant Strike.  Really just a longer lasting Secret of Celerity.  One hour timer is ridiculous.

34 -
Lurching Feint I - costs jin, makes the mob not attack for 2(?) seconds and gives next shot some percentage to crit. I haven't really noticed the stop attacking bit.

36 -
Foolhardy Swagger II
Jeering Kick III

38 -
Clumsy WhirlII
Errant Strikes - useless, gives you a buff for 1 minute that will apply all attacks to both your target and your defensive target's target. REUSE- one HOUR, and sometimes does absolutely nothing, not applying the buff.
Staggering Punch IV
Impossible Drunken Palm I - chain finisher, does less than Thousand Fists, maybe more than Flying Kick

42 -
Lurching Feint II
Drunken Arms of the Cyclone - adv chain finisher after Impossible Drunken Palm, does less damage than it.

46 -
Magnificent Drunken Stagger (our equivalent to Dragon Monk's invis/lev) Dodge all attacks for 15 seconds, REUSE- 30 MINUTES.

I find errant strike very useful its a better celerity.  Make sure you are your own defensive target and go to town adds about 1k per hit (e.g a little under 3k for thousand fists  one strike for each hit/3hits).  Use Ashen Hand and thousand fists.

As to being a drunken monk -- I'm fine with it but I duo with a paladin a lot -- so I pull aggro with jeering kick or the aoe and he rescues me for mega damage.

The level 46 stance is silly though

Pushing Hands cause I've got no clue what it does and the default drunken form (the yin/yang symbol) as I'd rather be in eternal form for evasion or the aggresive form for the +dmg.

Pretty much everything else gets some use at some time or another depending on whats going on and whether I'm solo, duoing, grouped, etc.  Though some things get a lot more use than others.
