1  Monk Discussion / Monk Quests / Faction and quest on: April 30, 2007, 06:30:16 AM
Hello,

I am lvl 45, and wherever I go to have some new rewards, there is a huge faction work to do. Swamps, Thethammi etc etc.

My question is what is the point to waste time in factionning (clever playgame) hours just to obtain finally the rewards. Would be great to add some complexity in the way to obtain rewards (timed events etc etc) rather than hours of very interesting farming...

Just a thought...

Hi I have done both quests, DT and Graystone.

What to say ?

It took me far more time to obtain the weap in DT than the one in Graystone. There is nothing clever in Graystone. Just 4 blessing quests which are so easy (I have started at lvl 40 and finished there I was 43 when obtaining the last reward). When you have done the 4 blessing you farm a bit some insignias (the caves are the best, good drop rate, many named).

Then the last event you summon one by one the 6 writ, lvl 42 5 dots, which are a joke in themselves. I am so disappointed that such a weapon can be obtained so easily. There is no point for the interest of the game to do that.

In DT, it was really challenging, more wipe risk, more steps, and a last event where we wiped 4 times before we have set up a strat with the waves of mobs. But a zone where no one go easily, and abondonned at the favor of wardship, VT etc... Even if slayer armor drop in DT.

I am hugely disappointed even if I have this nice weap from Graystone.
3  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Drunken Monk Style at 50, my thoughts. on: April 05, 2007, 04:10:57 AM
Hi,

I am a drunken lvl 41, a,d at the moment higher level in guild. So I need to solo a lot and use only pick up groups. Anyway I have the weap from DT and Soon graystone one.

In Aggro stance when grouped I do some amazing dps ( around 700ish buffed etc) so we are really needed. Also I am asked to tank. I think it is ok for a short period but it is worrying to keep clic on jeering kick or foolshardy swagger. Aggro isnot easy to managed but doable. For sure you are in dodge stance. Using Aum ti and reed in the wind and I am pretty sure we tank better than a war but with more effort and concentration.

As I said I solo a lot, and I combine magnificent stance, aum ti and reed in the wind. I was able today to solo a lvl 40 3 dots. and first I had to kill 2 dogs with him lvl 40. (in graystone). It is hard but doable. In term of solo I have been able at lvl 40 to do all the quest near graystone in a small outpost. I don't remember the name but they were all small group ones and white cons in the book.

All of that to say that with the levels going up we start to have some really better ability and dps with can make us some good soloer and also some good group member.

Just wonder if it is normal to be in aggro with mobs, when FD worked. See the screenshot below. 10 casters camping my character, when someone rope me they follow. So only way is to stand up and FD asap so some of them lose aggro. And  no way to stun as I am in combat mode. I did it in 4 times, and survived to dot and snares casted on me but it was so closed !
