46  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: recent issue with nerve strike since recent patches on: April 18, 2007, 01:20:42 PM
I've been noticing a lot more complete failures on FD lately...not sure if something was changed or not, but am having up anywhere from 8-12 total failures on level 50+ mobs, which is absolutely ridiculous imo. Perhaps luck, perhaps not.

I agree. I've even failed FD against 2dots 2-3 levels higher then me lately and it was only a single mob at a time. Maybe im just unlucky...

yeah, it's refeshing to see we are improving but we need to compare vs none skels. Even at 27, i'll crit skels for 3000-4000dmg very frequently, meanwhile an equal lvl range will report a max crit of 1500-200. we really do DESTROY skels.

It's still working. I used it last night but I have always had problems with feigning death and dropping combat then having it not work. Some times it takes me a couple feign deaths to get it to work but I could also be messing up >.<

weird, ok. I just played with it against some 2 dot mobs and for some reason or another it took about 4 FD's before i dropped. I dont know, it seems like this wasnt the case before...

blast.
49  Monk Discussion / Monk General / recent issue with nerve strike since recent patches on: April 17, 2007, 12:10:41 PM
I may be right out to lunch here, but i'm wondering if anybody else has noticed a difference in Feign Death and using nerve strike since recent patch.

pre-patch, when I would fake death, I would exit out of combat and when I would come back to my feet out of FD it would allow me to use NERVE STRIKE on additional mobs and stun them because I was out of combat.

NOW, when I fake death, and come back to my feet, i'm still in combat.... Is this a bug of some sort? Or maybe a nerf?

I'm positive i'm not doing anything different, and i've noticed this only since recent patch. Maybe it's just me....

Any ideas?

It was a really useful ability when it worked. Now, nerve strike is pratically useless to me.
50  Monk Discussion / Monk General / recent patch and dragon monks on: April 12, 2007, 04:42:44 PM
I found a pretty decent damage increase with this patch while in Storm Dragon Stance on my 25 Monk.

My attack for my main first increased from 254 to about 305, I seem to crit slightly more, and did the occasional lightening damage hit for around 180-250. I feel as if I can finally call myself a decent DPS Class.

What have other monks experienced?
51  Monk Discussion / Monk General / strength or dex, which do you focus on on: March 23, 2007, 01:09:43 PM
I'm currently running my monk at 170 strength, 160 dex (fairly balanced)

Do any of you tend to go one way or the other? or keep it balanced? (as of recent patch)
52  Monk Discussion / Monk Gear & Equipment / Re: Monk DPS with martial swords and staffs POST recent patches on: March 22, 2007, 01:46:01 PM
So basically the SWORD is ideal for tanking, where as the staff's are ideal for damage. Got it...

I'm still yet to figure out the major difference between the martial staff and the bladed staff, but do you feel they are, at this point, better DPS wise then hand 2 hand? (or, at least, up to par) ?
53  Monk Discussion / Monk Gear & Equipment / Monk DPS with martial swords and staffs POST recent patches on: March 22, 2007, 01:14:35 PM
Hey, lvl 21 Monk here. I've been grinding hard with handwraps, claws, etc, but figured it's time to level up my sword and staff's now that the recent patches have apparently givin us a both in these departments. I also just finished watching 300 and I want to spear something  knuppel2

my questions:

Are we better off, or at least equal, with swords and staffs lvl 20+ at this point with the recent patches?

I find it slightly unfair, also, that our sword's dont have a slightly lower attack speed seeing how we can only equip ONE sword. Or, if not a lower attack speed, maybe a higher DPS boost? This is based on what ive seen from the lvl 28-32 swords..... martial sword, for example.   Any thoughts on Monk DPS with a sword?

And do you find it easier to solo with swords and staffs due the parrying %?
