1  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Discipline Abilities... where is the list? on: May 02, 2007, 10:28:34 PM
It's level 46 dragon style skill.  It costs 8 jin and does not have a recast timer.  The invis TECHNICALLY lasts for 10 minutes (as in, that's how long the buff icon says) but it can wear off at any time randomly, sometimes after 30 seconds or somethings up to 5+ minutes).
2  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Summon shurikens? on: April 28, 2007, 12:26:19 PM
Nope.  The mobs are all like 33-36 3 dots and mostly all in groups of 3.  Get a small group or AOE farming group for the best results.

rofl he deleted all his posts and said "lack of interest."  Maybe he should of wrote "lack of knowing what the hell I'm talking about but still flaming Riot for trying to help anyway."
4  Monk Discussion / Monk Tactics & Techniques / Re: Nerve Strike I Can be used in combat! on: April 27, 2007, 11:43:35 PM
Well I guess you know more than me with your 30 levels than my 46.  But every pull in Graystone, the tank would pull with his bow, and I would Nerve Strike the other one in the group on its way back to our group.

No, if someone else pulls in your group that does NOT make you in-combat.  You are in-combat the second you perform an attack.  If someone pulls 2 things with a bow, you can always nerve strike one of them.

Fix your gear.  I dunno =/  My damage is normal.  Maybe try fighting different types of mobs and making sure they don't have damage shields on.
7  Monk Discussion / Monk Gear & Equipment / Re: H2H weapons lvl 40+? on: April 25, 2007, 09:49:48 AM
Well I'm an Orc and only need to turn in about 6 more bags, so it's definitely doable.  But yeah, I haven't seen any of the weapons at all, I was hoping that the upgraded wep would be good, but I guess maybe not.

So I've only seen that Aluul shard drop once off the little scorpion outside.  I've never really been inside Rahz at all, but any info on other places the Aluul shards drop and where you actually summon him?  I really want those claws, although those Torchbearers seem  better now...  Anybody know exactly how to get the Torchbearers?
8  Monk Discussion / Monk Gear & Equipment / Re: H2H weapons lvl 40+? on: April 25, 2007, 09:25:52 AM
Where do you get the Torchbearers, just a random drop in Rahz or some summoned boss?

And what about this Afrit weapon quest, do we get anything from that?
9  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Monk bugs / issues (No Drama) on: April 23, 2007, 08:13:45 PM
Yep that happens to me whenever I try to learn a new skill but there is nothing left to learn.

Anyways, I heard that Ten Ton Hammer is compiling a list of bugs and issues for each class on their forums.  Does anybody wanna gather up a exhaustive list or copy one of the ones we've already developed?  I don't want to steal anybody's post so I reccomend one of those who have already done write-ups to check it out.
10  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Dragon Monk skills at 50 on: April 23, 2007, 08:25:58 AM
Yes I realize this isn't really the best place for this, but it seems like not many people check out the Equipment section where I posted this earlier....  Basically I'm trying to figure out which will give more damage for a Dragon monk at level 50.  Here's what I posted before:

So then, what's going to do more overall damage for us Dragon Monks:

Graystone Bladestaff of Purification
http://vg-en.curse-gaming.com/database/items/details/1391287/graystone-bladestaff-of-purification/

OR

Hand of the God King
http://vg-en.curse-gaming.com/database/items/details/1350038/hand-of-the-god-king/

and another similar DPS h2h weapon such as another Hand of the God King... I assume if I paired this with an Aluul's Claw it would heavily outweigh the bladestaff.

If I had 2 Hand of the God Kings for instance, would it be like 53 DPS and then half of that for offhand, so about 26.5 DPS, for a total of about 80 DPS all together?  I guess with faster speed there will be more autoattacks, but it just doesn't seem that autoattacks really matter much at all in this game....

12  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Monks in PVP and what needs to be changed. on: April 21, 2007, 09:49:35 AM
As much as I hate referencing WoW, that had really none of the qualities of PVP you just stated that "all PVP games have."  I was a Warrior and I pretty much never lost.  I occasionally lost to Priests and stuff, but really I had good gear and I was smart, and in that game it was TOTALLY possible for melees to beat casters, in fact, if anything melees were probably better in PVP.  The fact isn't between caster vs. melee, it comes down to the LACK OF ABILITIES that melees have to counter the distance problems.  In WoW, you had charge/intercept to bring yourself to the target and you had a hamstring to slow them down.  Of course casters could get ways around them, which makes it more balanced, but the sheer fact that melees even HAD useful PVP abilities made them viable.  The fact is, Vanguard's melees... hell, not even all melees, pretty much JUST Monks, do NOT have any useful abilities that bridge the distance gap.  Well it's not really so much about distance, because Storm Stride covers that (if you have jin, which pretty much every time I get ganked I do not), but since every other class in the game can slow you and kite you, you'll get one hit in from Storm Stride and then be kited into oblivion.  I just think we need a hamstring ability to slow down the target.

13  General Topics / Player vs Player / Re: Best style for PvP? on: April 20, 2007, 03:05:54 PM
Stances won't really save us unless we get a slow/root/stun in my opinion.  Every other class gets this stuff so we get kited to death all the time.

Eye.

Oh wait =/
15  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Monks in PVP and what needs to be changed. on: April 19, 2007, 12:13:19 PM
I'm sick of hearing from my guild and other people that since I enjoy PVP I "rolled the wrong class for PVP."   There shouldn't BE a wrong class for PVP.  The classes should be balanced enough that everyone has a chance and everyone is good at something.  Don't give me that crap about "PVP isn't important, this is a PVE game" because the PVP servers are pretty much the most popular servers and a large playerbase expects PVP.  You can balance PVP without affecting PVE, we've seen it done already so that argument falls short too.

Simply put, we NEED a slow or a way to break stun/root, or a way to instantly recover Jin.  I don't think that's too much to ask for and I think any Monk on a PVP server would agree that we will continue to die without much chance unless we have these things.
