I finally got it - about 3.5 hours, 14 named matriarchs. A dagger dropped, with about 30 DPS and 84 one-hand piercing or something. Now let's hope it works.

Good stuff... I'm currently working on a pen and paper ruleset... I might post it when it's done - which should be some time in May, probably.

The mob you need to kill is a 40 4-dot, single, but with wandering 40 4-dots. In case of a Dragon like me, you really need to be 50 in order to get it.

I've been trying, btw... so far: about a dozen Matriarch spawns and no ring - took me about 3 hours on end so far.

It is skill based... you're assumed to have 10x your level in skill. But the difficulty roll is checked versus the mob's level or something. I'm still working on where to find the +FD item myself, supposedly somewhere in the dungeon in Kassur Hakrel.

The ring seems to spawn off Clawbeast Matriarch Marlisk, who has a 10-15% chance of spawning and about the same for the actual ring dropping. Here's a map of the dungeon:

Then again, the board where I found the info on which mob drops it, had the then-current Disciple lead posting that +FD items weren't doing anything.

Hmm, maybe it is indeed part of the greater invis issue - but it's strange that it keeps draining endurance. Btw, changing stances will drop it as well.

Another issue, this time with Aspect of the Spirit Dragon. I don't know what triggers it, because it worked fine before. What will happen now at times, is:
1- You activate Aspect of the Spirit Dragon. The icon for the buff doesn't show up on your buff list.
2- It drains Endurance until it's depleted, at which point it's supposed to stop. It doesn't, your endurance is permanently draining without the benefits of invis.
3- Since there is no icon for it on the buff list when this bug occurs and since clicking it again activates it again, the only way to cancel this is to use FD or Ignore Pain.

I've had this bug two times yesterday, both in and around APW.

I believe Quinn has stated in the past that it's not currently possible - in a technical way. I would agree with the basic idea, though.

I'd rather have a pure melee Secret, too.

It only happens when a casting mob's just casting as you FD. And I've only personally had this issue with FD 3, not sure about whether it happens with lower version. And FYI, I'm an Orc Dragon.

I was on AB, but I mainly played an alt on my bro's account and it's therefore doubtful that you encountered him - either Gyndor Ironhill, Dwarven Pally or Wolgar Morgenthal, Haffer dr00d. Then in EQ2, I was a Dwarven Bard called Dalinn Ironhill and a haffer dr00d called - big surprise - Wolgar Morgenthal 
Borix, to the last of my knowledge, is playing EQ2 on a Shadow Knight called Geest.
