Can't see the whole screenshot of the actual kit. Clicking the picture doesn't link to the whole pic...

I know it doesn't work if your defensive target is not on the hate list, yet. What I also know is that it's more useful for giving the tank that extra bit of initial aggro in case they need it, but not as useful mid-fight.

I haven't tried Boon of Health, but I like the continental Qalian effect, too - I can now actually chain solo VT 4-dots and 5-dots... and they're 32, haha. Sounds glorious, doesn't it?

As to weapons: I prefer the Martial Sword of Scorching (Resonating crystal of Ice) because of the slow proc it gives. It goes off rather often. I'm not so convinced +Parry really does anything on gear. I've never noticed +Parry rings or earrings do a lot, so why would a martial sword?

If solo is your focus, then yes. Visit the Grandmaster on the West bank of Khal (about halfway down the city) to lose your current path and acquire a new one. Bring a flying mount.

If it's apples and oranges....
The dagger is a pristine, ripe, sweet apple....
and the claw is a mouldy, rotting orange that a stray dog ate, vomitted back up, then shat on.

Ok not that extreme but still obviously worse Sad Cry

ROFL. If it weren't that sad it would be funny.

No real worrying fd gear in game, nothing adds anything to actual skill
Plus, Dalkain's Ring (that used to be 8 CON, 70 FD) got revamped to:

9 CON
15 Melee accuracy rating (0.41% at level 50)
7 Melee critical rating (0.17% at level 50)
9 Melee damage rating (0.24% at level 50)

without any notice in the patch notes. Avarem had said it would become something useful for Monks - guess not so. There's no point in getting the item now.

40  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Where is Quinn??? on: February 20, 2008, 05:22:56 AM
I had a short MSN conversation with Quinn yesterday, in which he said that he thought the Monk was getting renewed attention after GU4. Talisker hadn't said too much in the two IM conversations Quinn had with him over the last three weeks.

In my personal opinion, it would make sense, since the classes that have gotten attention recently, are:
- Blood Mages ( a couple of months back, but it solved a few issues)
- Shamen (something, forgot what)
- Clerics (affinities)
- Healers in general (heal costs)
- Tanks in general (force target abilities)
- Rangers (ranged/melee spec)
- Warriors (dual wield)
- Bards (countless updates)
- Paladins (virtue points, sword and board style, etc.)
- Dread Knights (two handed fighting)1
- Druids (phenomena points)
- Necromancers (something about a pet fix in GU4)
- Sorcerers (alternative to CV added not too long ago)
- Rogues (Bloodlust ability among others)

leaving just:
- Psionicists
- Disciples
- Monks (and mostly Drunken and Dragon at that)

I - as a Dragon - have just received a Flawless Pariah's set from my neighborhood crafter without any added effects. It's the ideal set for pulling, IMO. Other than that, I will probably order a Flawless Cavalier's set with some added effect, though I'm not sure if I'll go for cystals of Pain (crit) or accuracy yet.

All I've read is the UI is supposedly going to use the Mozilla format, which would technically enable it to use Javascript. If all of that is true, you might be able to add in timers and such. I do, however, have my doubst - as this would make it much, much easier for botters to get their way.

Quinn, how ya been, man? Is there an ETA you could give us on when you'll be back?
44  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Any better than 10 months ago? on: February 15, 2008, 06:23:03 PM
Depends on which style you are or were.

Dragon: much the same
Harmonious: a lot better
Drunken: different, and at least a small degree of borkedness.
45  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: what do we want with pushing hands? on: February 15, 2008, 04:53:46 PM
I'd go for either 20 Endurance and some damage, or 40 Endurance and an evasion or accuracy debuff. Or - as I originally suggested - having it prevent the mob from entering a stance again in the next period of time.
