Monk Discussion / Monk Quests / "Must" do gear quests?

While I know about the standard quests everyone does, URT, HL, CIS, BH, Arena, Wardship, Greystone, Swamp, ToT... Are there any quests I should be looking at not missing as a Monk as I level up? Currently L17 and heading to Blighted Lands to get an easy Cloak...

Just FYI, Stinging Backfist 3, and Secret of Ice 1 are now L20, not L22. Remade my monk recently and he has both, although is only barely L21 currently. GU5 seems to have adjusted skills levels for several classes.

Thanks! Much better! They really should move the one you did to what the link points to.
Too bad there is no easy way to determine the path skills availibilty level. But at least from what I have been reading no longer do you need to Meditate for hours to get all the current skills. I soo hated that...

Monk Discussion / Monk General / Skills list, including paths?

Is there a complete and current skills list for Monks? The one linked to from the home page is patheticly out of date and was never complete. Also there was a comment about RitW reqy=uired levels being reduced, what are the new levels?
I have recently returned to VG and was thinking of restarting my Monk, never got past the 30's in the past with the monk.

As to the Xenn gear...
On Qalia head far to the NW, Dragon's Backbone area. Bunch of late 30's to early 40's quests. You need to do some of the Gnomes quests to get started on the Xenn pre-reqs.
Kill the 3d+ Xenn Fish Folk, They random drop Schematics, Energy Shards and Orbs.
Turn in a Schematic to get a quest added for the slot of gear. There is a repeatable quest to gather 10 Energy Shards to make 1 Purple Orb Green orbs can drop from any and all Xenn 3d's. Red and Orange Orbs drop from the higher levelled Xenn and Nameds.
Once you have turned in a Schematic, you then need to turn in XX Green/Orange/Red orbs, and all items need 3-5 Purple orbs.
Have a farmer, who is already done with some step, use /giveplayerlootitem and pop the soulbound drops over to your char.

A sad parallel; Horizons - Glorious plans, everyones dream MMO, So terribly implemented it became sad beyond words. Vanguard - Glorious plans, everyones dream MMO, So terribly implemented it is sad beyond words. BUT really pretty graphics. Welcome to the niche world, 10k subscribers here we go... The only thing HZ had that VG doesn't, is the promised but never delivered "Super Secret Sauce Release Build(tm)"

However for you to really gain a benefit from STR you really need to make sure your Auto-attack goes off as it seems that STR has little if any effect on specials. So if you spam BF and Crescent, STR does you little good, if you time your specials to occur immediately after an auto then str will stand out.

Monk Discussion / Monk General / Aum of the Roaring Dragon disables the some Crit finishers

Aum of the Roaring Dragon disables the Flying Kick/Thousand fists finishers.
I now see why this bug has only occasionally popped up. Levelled in the field, Meditated and Aummed to learn any new skills. Once I got the 'nothing to learn at this level' message I stood and pulled the Bandit that had wandered right in front of me. Mid-fight I noticed that I wasn't seeing the reactions pop up after I critted. Not only were the Hotkeys greyed out, but the FK/TF buttons were missing from the reaction hotbar. I manually tried pressing the hotkeys after a crit and got no response.
Whirling Typhoon hilighted normally and showed on the reaction bar and is the only finisher to trigger from the keyboard shortcut.
Chunking and recalling did NOT clear this, had to camp out and re-enter to restore function.

And I suppose you can also continue to Nuke while tap-rooting? I don't know about you, but as soon as I cast on my druid, I no longer regen mana.
And if you aren't casting while regening mana, you aren't generating any DPS.
Solo, as I get low mana I just refresh the snare, dots and run off to Taproot, by the time the mob gets to me I am pretty much full up and ready to go again. Grouped much the same, but the mob should stay on the tank. Yes you are right, no 'fresh' DPS while tapping, but it doesn't take long to get a ton of mana back.

Yesterday was bored and ran figure 8's. Land side ramp opposite the Dock/Teleporters. Turn on auto-run, ran up the wood ramp, jumped off the top, curled back around and came up the other side ramp, jumped... about 90 minutes later I had 117 Safe fall.
The jump did about 25-30 damage at skill ~10, and virtually the same damage at skill 117. hmmm....
