I am not sure why I am posting this but I guess it is because I really enjoy playing my monk. I started with a necro and decided to switch to a monk due to a number of bugs that effect necros (mainly pet pathing and lost pet issues). Well, the monk is a ton of fun to play and I have finally made it to level 14.
I decided to go back to my necro to see how things are. The thing is, while the monk is fun, it is amazing how much easier it is to actually kill and level with a necro. In my opinion, it's not even close. For example, there are quests which require the killing of three different 3 dot mobs (it's that jin series of quests- don't remember the name). My necro could easily kill the mobs when they were even or higher cons (I think they ranged from levels 9 to 11 or so). My monk, on the other hand, had to wait until he was at least 2 to 3 levels higher.
As I just dinged 18 on my necro, I kept asking myself as I was killing mobs for quests in Misthaven Corssing whether I could do the same on my monk at the same level. My answer was consistently no.
I just see this as a problem. Does this get better later on? I will continue to play my monk due to the fun factor but there should be some better parity amongst the classes.
Thank you for the response. I have another question then. How do we determine what damage our fists do when compared to the stats seen on weapons? Also, is there a penalty for equipping actual weapons versus just using your bare fists? Thanks again.
I have followed and read the recent update notes, including for the changes going in with the nightly update. The changes seems to focus on weapon damage. Does that mean I should be using weapons rather than bare fists? Keep in mind however, that I am only level 9. Thanks.
