many classes are more fun than monks are. i've tried a few out myself and can say monks are very under powered. got some chars to mid 30 fairly quick and then just deactivated my acct. didn't feel worth playing anymore but things are looking better and better for monks it appears (according to the latest test server patch notes).

Repeat. I never use our DoT because it slaps a whopping 60-80 damage over a few seconds, and I could get more damage just doing a regular attack. Maybe I'll try it with jin surge and stuff, but it still seems way too expensive at 5. Maybe I would be more inclined to use it if I wasn't trying to keep Iron Hand on at all times (seriously 60 seconds is getting kind of annoying)
i haven't really logged onto my monk in awhile (to do anything that is) but i don't think i read a patch note about monk's dot doing less. last i remember, sundering dragon claw did 1k+ per tick for 3-4 ticks and feet of the fire dragon (with jin surge) would sometimes crit and tick for 1.5k. can't say how efficient it is to do these now with the changes. i'm sure playstyle for monks have changed.

The issue with the Secrets not stacking with Storm Dragon, I've actually had them work together for awhile now, but the Storm Dragon's dmg only came up in the combat log. As for the Secrets getting a boost, I'd say thats probably one of the best fixes a monk could get aside from the DPS fix. Maybe I'll play my 50 monk again ;p

Three Finger Strike, Hammer Fist - hits for about 40 dmg. It's actually been like this before the patches of March 7th. Palm Explodes the Heart actually does some dmg though.
Aum Kor doesn't work or do anything at all.

Siul: it's for all monks.
Here's an update on Aspect of the Spirit Dragon - it's not that great lol. invis+levitation for 8 jin. i guess you might be able to find times to use it, but i'm sure if you have a group, people in your group can give these buffs to you either way. it doesn't do anything other than that.
edit: you can cast this on other players which invis+levi you and your defensive target.

well since you guys were getting into the whole jin surge thing, just use boundless fist, then have a macro for /cast "jin surge X" /cast "six dragon strike X" as long as you have jin, you could use jin surge with whatever attack and it prevents auto attacks from taking over that jin surge. you could throw that with any other abilities if you like. just sucks when you miss that ability hit, and jin surge still goes to your auto attack. a macro with jin surge to feet of the fire dragon or whatever isn't too bad at all.
Ghastone: that macro would be ok if you don't use deadly adder hand much. each time you hit that key, your jin is consumed to iron hand. it probably would be better to just get yourself used to manually using iron hand once every minute or before each fight? maybe try changing it to /cast "secret of flames X" /cast "deadly adder hand X"
secrets have refresh time of 40 seconds so that'll prevent you from using it before the buff even wears off.

its nice knowing you can travel around extremely quickly with soaring leap. the downside to this is the game's flaw as where your character isn't planted down on the ground for approx. more than 3seconds (includes levitation, swimming, etc) while having agro, the mob can hit you. as long as they have agro, no matter how far you are, they will hit you. so you still need to avoid mobs. but this usually only occurs if youre jumping down a slope, or using a regular jump, and hitting soaring leap to go even further. if you just use soaring leap without the jump, mobs shouldn't be able to hit you.

you can see other people's dmg by enabling it through your chat filter. to make it easy, just add an extra tab and check the boxes for other players attacks or whatever. you could even just enable it so you can see the damage numbers over the mob's head of other player's aswell through interface options towards the very bottom of that window. and monks being low dps comes in later. earlier levels, you cant notice it too much but later on, you notice your ability's damage doesnt scale much. a set damage for an attack which were nerfed since beta is pretty bad. i know there was a skill in beta that was an ae attack that used to do 1.6k damage or so. now its been tuned down to 450 at base and thrown to the back of the skill tree.

- Bug Sundering Dragon's Claw (or something like that, learned at level 42 i believe) tooltip on this skill says it's a finisher but is actually an adv. finisher. it's also supposed to be a dot for 800-900dmg or something, but does nothing. (Need more info)[
sorry for my vague description. ----[learned at lv42] Sundering Dragon Claw I 38 Endurance Dragon Mastery Finish Refresh 2:00 Savagely tears through your opponent, inflicting a massive 891 to 941 damage over 6 seconds. Increases Jin by 1. ---- not sure if skill is meant to be a finisher. the skill becomes activated after a finisher so it should be a "dragon mastery adv. finisher"? also, the skill itself doesn't work at all. there is no dot, or initial hit damage.
