Hi all.  Some of you may remember me.  Some of you probably couldnt stand me.  LOL

Anyhow,  I just dropped by to say hello..its been about 6 months I think.  I was wondering how monks were doing now and more specifically how VG in general is handling.  This game has always had promise but with the constant crashing and the lack of attention my monk recieved, I just couldnt tough it out anymore.  Im glad some of you brave souls were able to.

So could anyone give me a brief synapsos on how things are now?  Will this game run on Vista. Dunno if I will ever come back but its a possibility.  I have a new computer now so it may even run better who knows.

Hey hey! Long time no see!

I think since the SoE aquisition the rate of change while slower is definately more deliberate. It's not the seat of your pants type of managing that sigil had when they 1st launched.

One of your biggest complaints iirc was that damage didn't scale well through out a monks level range. With the changes on test I think it goes a long way to settling that complaint. Our solo-ability and most of our abilites have evolved away from micromanagement to straight out damage dealing. If you look over the upcoming monk changes thread you will see what I mean.  Cool.

If you were to resub, I'd wait until after GU3, part 2 gets pushed to live for the most bag for your buck.

Like always, we are closer to where the class should be. I guess we shall find out more when all these changes are finally in place and are alble to get another parse off against the other O Fighters.

My latest theory is that it may be a DSC "bond" related. The bond pulsing breaks our FD. I am still quasi out of action for till Monday. If any of y'all can give this theory a test drive with your local guild DSC it would be much appreciated.

I got a chance to talk to Talisker and got confirmation that the END costs for cresent kick have been lowered back to 12 it's not pushed to test yet. You may now put away the torches and pitchforks.

Update:

Talisker got a chance on Friday to go over the document detailing  the issues on test. The im session was rather brief and one sided as I was WAY past a deadline at work.   knuppel2


*Dragon Breath is going to be bumped up in damage.
*Aspect of the inviso levi ability, He worked worked on the end drain, depending when you activated the ability a duration of  25-30 sec is possible.
*Divine Tsunami will be going 350% Weapon Damage + X.
*The Hamony abilities should be flagged appropriately now.
*Sundering Dragons Claw will be inreased in DoT Damage.


I will be attempting to get numbers regarding these changes but I wanted to let y'all know that these abilities are being looked at

If thats the case it's not zone / mob specific. I'll just beat the hell out of it and see what happens based on quanity of attempts as opposed to set circumstances.

I know it's perceived as a nerf, but with Aum Ti  running + a spirited martial sword of scorching I could solo 4 dot melee only mobs just using a counterattack / dodge macro and I would finish a fight near full health / end.

I just want to clarify that I think that the overall idea is great the end cost is a touch steep imo but, forcing mobs out of  stances is a wonderfull thing. It's limitations is that the game is not really making mobs use stances.... this is the main reason why it doesnt get much play. Thus it's limited value.

I am hoping that the devs make for more interesting combat by having mobs make use of stances. For now its sits at the very end of a hot bar I normally use for my CR stuff.

Pehaps it couldbe a latency thing?? Those zone are all pretty laggy. meh. Thanks for the update on this. I'll see what I can do replicate it.
