1  Disciple Discussion / Disciple Gear & Equipment / Re: Knuckles on: February 21, 2007, 07:32:00 AM
Size makes a difference as well.  When using knuckles on the same hand and MH weapon listed at 8.75 dps and OH listed as 8.53 DPS I get less dps overall than 1 Knuckle and 1 (Claw) with the OH claw listed as 5.53 DPS.

Makes no sense unless the Uklak(Claw thingie whatever the name is) is smaller than the knuckles which in the sword world will allow you to do better DW damage.  uglystupid2

FYI - Soul Wrack is a weakness generated by both the desciple and Blood Mage.

As I stated in another thread.  The DroxUI tracks your DPS.

At lvl 13 without weapons and having the Grasshopper buff on I get about 20-23 (cannot remember for sure) DPS.

With both fist weapons added I get around 26.  Now, I had to play with this as I had accumulated 4 seperate h2h weapons.  After playing around I found that 2 of them would actually drop my DPS below unarmed DPS.

I highly recommend you get the DroxUI to track this.  Since it definately makes a big difference on how you do damage.

The DroxUI helps you to track your DPS fairly well.

At lvl 13 I am working on about a 26 DPS with the weapons I am using.  This is up about 3-5 points from using no weapons to 2 weapons (1 in each hand).  The trick to using the DW is to make sure the off hand has the smaller or slower weapon in the off hand.  You have to play with it to see which will get you a better DPS.

I cheat by using the DroxUi which calculates it for you.  Seems to work, though I am not sure if the DPS is correct, I can at least validate that I do more damage in the configuration that DroxUI states is the highest DPS.

I have not tried any of the 2 hand weapons.  One of the main reasons I play this class is for the h2h style and do not care for the weapons animation.

Most of the Higher Disciples I have pinged on this all say pretty much the same thing.  It depends upon your play style.

If you are a group player and group mostly your important attributes are

VIT for heal buff
WIS - for mana pool
Dex - for crit percentage

If you are more solo you can go
VIT - for heal buff
DEX - for crit buff
STR  - for damage buff

The group set up with the WIS buff will allow you to step back and play healer from a distance on mobs who have AoE.  In case you have not noticed they raised the cost of the "Magic" heals on your mana.  You are using quite a bit of it to just heal from a distance now.

You need the crits in either case to get the bonus to your heals that last for about 3 minutes.

Str or Wis, this is where the trade off between solo or grouping comes in.  No point wasting the points in str if you are grouping with others.  You are not a DPS machine and should not try to keep up with those who are!!  You will need those extra mana points if you have to step back and heal or you cannot attack fast enough to keep the MT healed up.

Now, if you find yourself soloing alot, extra sdtr for some extra damage sue would help keep the combat from taking so long.
6  Vanguard Monks / Introductions / Just dropped in to say Hello on: February 19, 2007, 10:59:18 AM
Hi all.  Just dropped in to say hello.  I am Novashi Kane in game and Nova Kane on the Crimson Wind guild site (www.crimsonwind.net).

Been looking for a Disciple sight since I started playing the class a couple of weeks ago.
