2  Monk Discussion / Monk Gear & Equipment / Re: Art for fist weapons? on: May 10, 2007, 01:56:27 AM
IMO, they could easily add some Qatar like graphics to Ulaks, studded or spiked gloves to the Knuckle category (or just fist irons).  Anyone know why we can't use nunchuks, kamas (scythe on a short handle), sais (forks) or jos (short, one-handed sticks), by the way?

Yeah, would be nice.  My bard dual wielded sais, they looked like sais anyway. Kojani style Brute's Daggers look exactly like sais.

Would also like to see Monk armor like they did in EQ.

Those classes use Energy for their invis.  Something that will regenerate itself. Jin doesn't and that should make some difference combined with levitate being tied to it.
4  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Chain Attack keys on: April 26, 2007, 02:32:08 AM
All your chains should be on the reaction bar. Usually when they disappear, you can relog to get them back.

For the extra hotbars the lettering in the upper left of the button should be the shortcut for it. is cs3 would be ctrl+shift+3 and c2 would be ctrl+2.

For assist, the F key is the default bind. I don't know what the command would be for binding keys but I would also like to find out. I use the default UI.

One thing Vanguard has that Horizons didn't is Sony Online Entertainment.

McQuaid and SOE have a long relationship.  Severed and broken, now mended I'm sure that they will work something out.  Look, Sigil needs to put their ego aside and sell the game to SOE before irreversible damage is done.

SOE will give it the re-work and approach they did for EverQuest 2 after launch, and that turned out to be a fine MMO.

Regarding the Monk class, I logged in today after 3 weeks away and not much had changed.  Despite the few dozen notes in recent Patches, I still found myself completely owned solo.  At 23 I am relegated to running grey and green quests.  Groups are almost non-existent these days.  Truly sad for a class with so much potential and a game with limitless innovation -- both squandered.

Wasted talent.
Let SOE take over? I'd rather wait for this irreversible damage. I am one of the ones that thought EQ got worse when Verant left. I also played SWG from launch up until a couple months after CU. Came back a bit to test NGE and was glad I quit. Gave EQ2 a try and quit at about lvl 30.  They can keep their hands out of it as far as I'm concerned.

I am currently a lvl 21 monk and do not see this relegation to only do grey and green quests. Unless of course things change greatly in two levels.

I am an altaholic and usually have pleny of alts in games. I have a lvl 21 monk, lvl 20 bard, lvl 17 bard, lvl 13 disciple, and a lvl 13 rogue. I like all of these classes and play different ones depending how I feel that day. All of these classes except bard are the least played classes.  I have kept up mostly on bards and monks, since those are primarily my favorite classes, and while they might take a few steps back during some patches they continue to progressively move forward toward being what they should be.

I think you might be missing the dragon mastery skills...

To get them, meditate up to 6 jin and hit the Aum of the Roaring Dragon.

Repeat that a few times.

FOTM here we come.

seems every game I play that the less then good class I play ends up gets buffed to super class.

TKA in SWG
Spines/Regen in COH
Hunter in WOW

I have the feeling it will be the same with this but I really hope that we don't become a dime a dozen class because a like toughing it out with a low played class. Kinda makes you feel good when people who don't normally have a chance to play with your class is in awe at your abilities. Like yesterday I got a bunch of of my guildies jealous and envious of my soaring leap.

Yeah I've had this happen to me a lot in games too...
Teras Kasi Artist in SWG (Before the unarmed/unarmored offense/defensive bonuses skyrocketed)
Martial Arts/Regen in COH (with the long pose-first animations and the 5 to 6 second multi storm kick animation)
Scout->Sundancer in Shadowbane (before flaming fist weapons and all that other stuff)
(I started all these when the games first came out)
Hard/Challenging in the beginning, then a while later I'm considered a cheap FOTM

Back to the main point... I agree with Chunli.  Even if you are working to solve these issues, feedback couln't hurt.
8  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: The Alts thread on: April 02, 2007, 05:06:27 AM
I have several characters that I play depending on what I feel like.
I have a Kojani Bard (20), Wood Elf Bard (14), Kojani Monk (14), Raki Disciple (13), and Halfling Rogue (10)
Had a Wood Elf Shaman (10) for a bit too but didn't care for it. As you can also see, Kojan is the place I call home.
