1  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Changed weapon type of bladed staff on: March 07, 2007, 07:58:48 PM
Yeah ... my drop martial staff (which has been changed from 2h Peircing to 2h blunt) no longer has a graphic either .... and of course it looks as though to get the weapon I wanted for the looks is probably going to mean that I need to raise my Bladed Staff skill.....
2  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Thanks Sigil and Quinn (no not sarcasm) on: March 01, 2007, 02:10:27 PM
but I wont hold my breath till I actually see the patches

but if you start holding your breath when you see the patches then you'll pass out and won't be able to enjoy them....

Crafted Martial Staves seem to be flagged as 2h Blunt ... I've been working up my skill with one.

Just want to add make sure you buy the "Crude Shuriken" as they have skill level requirements. which is odd because as it is right now there don't appear to be any benifits of using the more expensive ones.

Actually currently the damage portion of 'ammo' (arrows/thrown weapons) is not being applied ... it is a bug that will hopefully be corrected soon.
5  Monk Discussion / Monk Gear & Equipment / Re: Hand Wraps and Knuckle Weapons on: February 22, 2007, 11:05:20 AM
still unsure what you guys are talking about my weapons are much nicer then hand to hand!

What is your level and what are the weapons? Because any weapon I equip results in lower DPS than I get barehanded. (Though I have knuckles with healing focus that I generally use off-hand keeping my main hand empty.
6  Monk Discussion / Monk Quests / Re: No Monk or Disciple weapon from Tomb of Lord Tsang? on: February 19, 2007, 05:20:04 PM
Yeah ... I believe from the quest text that it's a branch off from the Dakkar line ... however I notice that all the Stats they have for Kel'Dakkar in the database are all longswords (with the same stats as Dakkar) and not usable by monks or disciples....

Note - looking at the quest text for one of the steps toward Kel'Dakkar he states "Long ago, a follower of the martial arts took Dakkar and imbued it with his own power. Dakkar then split and created Kel'Dakkar, The Mourning Sword." - so I'm definately inclined to believe that it's a split off quest from the Dakkar line.
7  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: new monks something you should know before making a monk on: February 17, 2007, 10:03:38 PM
siul, yes the disciples have fd but it is nowhere near as effective as ours. the recast is like a minute on it and it is only a short term fd. as far as what do you do.... play what makes you happy.  dont worry that your guild does not really have any healers pick some up along the way.... if you enjoy playing a healer then try one out and see what you think.  but whatever you do play what you want, what makes you happy.... never play something just because its needed as it will just frustrate you to play something needed that doesnt make you happy

This is advice that I give regularly. If you play a healer 'because it's needed' you are more likely to dislike the character, feel like you're grinding, resent guildmates that played what they wanted and 'stuck' you playing a healer.

Now you may find that you enjoy playing a disciple ... I personally find them an awesome class ... I'm just saying that if you play something because you feel that you 'have to' or 'need to' you are more likely to unfairly judge the class, the game, or otherwise lessen your enjoyment of your play time.
8  Disciple Discussion / Disciple General / Re: Welcome Disciples! on: February 16, 2007, 01:21:55 PM
Heya ... look forward to discussing Disciple strats and such here. Smiley Probably keep a close eye on the Monk forum too since I plan a Monk alt at some point.
9  Disciple Discussion / Disciple Gear & Equipment / Re: Knuckles on: February 15, 2007, 06:12:20 PM
They use Hand to Hand skill

So the next question becomes ... since Knuckles have no Weapon Specialization skill does that mean that you loose the 10% Melee damage bonus from having a maxed Spec skill? (the assumption would be 'yes' in which case the follow up is, is there any advantace to Knuckles over other weapons?)
