Correct me if I'm wrong, but can Quivering Palm only fire off of a parry?
The RiTW activates the dodge counters. These are nice dps as well, but I still find QP superior in most instances. HI, dmg debuff makes a lotta difference, esp when we don't have a good way to heal ourselves.
Now, i will grant you: it's usage in group situations can be quite limited, as Kyomi pointed out with agro issues, but solo.. sheesh, that's one helluva great tool. Especially with the upcoming RiTW nerf. The 15 dps difference is the reason Folsarun's is bagged except to get its skill up a lil more. Not because I find it that inherently inferior a weapon.
And also, in the space of 40 mins, I can grind out 20-30 coins midday on my lunch. Add in quests and you can start getting the coins with good alacrity.
Yes, if mobs die faster, you don't need healing as much. But that, imo, is where QP comes in. I don't find it firing near as often using Zank as I did using Folsarun.

The biggest problem that I have with the FD splitting mechanic atm is the sprint back to bind that mobs do. This doesn't allow for us to do any of our timing, pathing, run into walls tricks that we had done in the past. We flop and unless they bug and camp us, they are sprinting back to bind, out of throwing range or thoroghly mixed back in the scrum again.

There's been times I was on agro from early crits, popped it and watched the mob turn back to the tank. Also gotten agro late, done same thing & watched it turn to the tank.
Now, usually, when we snag agro with it, its a near thing, so its great in those times.
Pulling, well, twould be nice if it would truly give to the tank. Hell, I'm of the opinion that it may work if you go up, pop em, and then turn & run or turn of auto attack rq. Any tested this to be sure?
And yeah, I do agree, this can be exploitable for griefers.

Ya know.. all the pessimism drives me nuts at times. How long has this game been released? Just over a month. How long were many of the bugs of EQ1 around? How many from old world stuff are STILL around? Answer to both: many.
Abandoning the class bcs we got thrown a bone 2 patches in a row and then we get skipped for a week is acting far too hastily imo.
Give it some time. If things are still as dumpy as they are in another few months then its reasoned, but its still barely a month after release. Sheesh.

basically, the biggest issue that most of us have is having to constantly hit the buffs. We're getting more & more content with the buffs' effects, just we hate being the class that has to constantly mess with them, in addition to the various specials we have going. hmm.. lemme count the things we use constantly as a 31 dragon: 1) Boundless 2) 6 dragon 3) crescent kick 4) flaming dragon kick 5) ashen hand 6) flying kick 7) thundering fists ranged attack 9) mend 10) iron hand 11) agro slap 12) assist 13) jin surge 14) dodge 15) Quivering Palm 16) Dragon Sweeps tail 17) secret of flames 18) secret of ice 19) FD Flying kick, QP, Tail Sweep, Thundering fists can just be relegated to the chains bar for usage, but that's still frickin 15 things to have up quite regularly. We have to spam enough keys as it is. Spamming an additional one gets wearing. I type enough at work that the extra typing can be wearing on my wrists during the weekend ;p

As far as I've been able to tell, the specific weapon types (Martial sword, claws & Ulak, etc) have importance to your dps only when you reach the specialization cap for that particular weapon, wherein you increase the damage output by 10(?)% (I don't have VG on this comp, so can't check tooltips). I leeched points from my martial staff and shuriken to get sword, blade staff, claw/ulak & knuckles up to max.

One thought I have against it Ryoku: The proc buffs, that'd work fine... but like celerity: I've gotten Thousand fists to hit for 3737 with a 33 dps sword. Now I'd love that, but to be able to throw off dps like that with great regularity.... you know, like a ranger... that's too big a jump. To make the proc buffs last an hour would be worthwhile, and probably more in line with other classes buffs, much like Iron hand should be as well.

heck.. the river valley elevator things, especially if you are as bad at negotiating them as I am (I hate those frickin things) can seriously work to PL your safefall. Just go at a slow trot through it, sufficient to make sure you keep moving all the way across and run back & forth.

Southwatch has been great. I know some people who got several levels in a day there in their 30s, especially working the missives there. There's one that's extraordinarily simple (kill 15 lvl 29-31 mobs other side of the hill) that a high dps group I was with last night was mowing through. Most fun I'd had in a while ;p

I've been using it on 2 pulls by having the tank pull one & I just run up & nerve striking the one the tank's not on.
I'm not sure abt it lasting the full 30 secs tho. The sorcerers I was working with were having a really bad time with their sleeps wearing off way early.

Hmmm.. i know eventually, skilling up the weapons will be worthwhile... can we get weapon skillups from no-xp mobs ie, do I go around slaughtering noobie areas for my weapon skillups later on, or am I gonna need to start whipping out the lower dps weapons every so often, in order to get the skills up for the better weapons, when they drop?
