Damn, looks like we got the low end of the stick.  Harmony and Tranquility were made for discs Sad  I was really hoping for a staff too.

Damn it, I never did the Graystone line with my monk because I went with the cragwind staff straight to a PBSoD.

I wouldn't mind having Gi style armor like in Eq2

4  General Topics / Player vs Player / Re: Team PvP or RvR? on: February 07, 2008, 01:15:09 AM
Unless SoE somehow mangaes to vastly increase the population I highly doubt we'll ever ger a new server of anykind.  Vanguard was never meant to be a PvP game and as such PvP is and will probably always be a low priority to the dev team.  Especially since WAR and AoC is right around the corner I doubt they'll bother trying to pull in the pvp fanbase.

Other than Xanadu Community for raid gear, Curse is pretty much the best.
6  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Int or Dex? on: February 05, 2008, 10:07:53 PM

The question i'd like to know the answer to around the subject of int is where the point of diminshed returns kicks in. For my Bloodmage and Sorcerer its at 300 int.  300 points gives me 100% spell damage and there after every 10 points = +1% damage. Giving a maximum 160% damage at 900 int. + focus's + SDR gear.

On us monks though that spell damage mod from int isn't displayed on the character sheet, but i'm under the impression that it comes at a much lower level. Anyone figured out where that point lies?

I suppose one method to test this out for a lvl 50 monk is to roll a new monk and take it to the trainer, from the trainer look up the values of the secret of ice/fire damage range.  From there switch back to your lvl 50 monk and alter your int till you match the numbers from the trainer.

I want to say normalization occurs at 275.

If your objective is to get the shuiken orb and armor then then it's impossible to solo it all at the normal level range for that region..

Here's a pic I took awhile back on my first trip down in the gnome city. Atonement of Val Anari  Assuming it truly is handwarps instead of a mace, it seems to me to be more of a disc weapon than a monk weapon.
10  Monk Discussion / Monk Gear & Equipment / Re: Stormslam Cragwind Ridge weapon on: January 31, 2008, 04:52:41 AM
I I got extremely lucky and got a chance to run this quest with Fujitu's rogue alt a few weeks back.  Thankfully a 50 bard provided all the dull shards so I didn't have to do any farming(Though I had previously farmed 2 dull shards).  Had a bit of trouble with Shrine of the Tempest but lucked out and a GM responded in miraculously less than a minute.  All and all that was a pretty good day since  I upgraded my shuriken orb to legendary right before I joined up with that group.

So far all the way to lvl 45, Stormslam has served my lillte drunkard well as a dps weapon while I was grouping.  I've actually gotten quite a few positive comments about my dps from groupmates.  Only 3 more levels to go till it goes into semiretirement and I swap it out for the fancy new flawess pariah's powered bstaff of devastation a guildie made for me.

Btw Kivik,(Or another monks with the claws) has your guildmate done much testion on how much jin, life, and strength is tapped when Senate Enforcer procs?
12  Monk Discussion / Monk Gear & Equipment / Re: APW lootpage on: January 30, 2008, 07:00:33 PM
Cry  Hate to be ungrateful for the knuckles, shuiken pouch, and those jaw dropping claws, but seems there's no decent staff or monk friendly handwraps outta apw that the general public knows about.  I  personally wouldn't use shadowsoul's heroic martialstaff over a powered bstaff of devasation.  Hopefully the basement wing coughs something nice up.
13  Monk Discussion / Monk Gear & Equipment / Re: Perfect Gear for Raiding (or Grouping in general)? on: January 28, 2008, 04:56:37 AM
Btw, do you guys suggest Pariah(Dex/Con/Str)  or Cavalier(Str/Dex/Vit)  My little boozer is about to hit 44 so I suppose it's time to start hitting up guildies to get my T5 things crafted.
14  Monk Discussion / Monk Gear & Equipment / Re: Crafted Swords? on: January 28, 2008, 04:52:18 AM
Anyone know if frost procs will stack with Secret of Ice?  I'm thinking of asking a guildie to make me on of these Flawless Pariah's Martial Sword of Scorching  Untill GU4 when melee haste matters, I don't see a reason to put Speed on it. Also unless the +parry stats really adds up I don't think Parrying will be more useful than the +hp.
