What mob drops the Dalkain's Ring?
I have looked for it on curse but it seems to be a world drop.

If you are a harmonious monk you also add in/combatformset "Tiger Stance".
This will add even more damage if this is placed before any of the strikes are executed.

It was nevermy intention to upset anyon with my own observations between my two characters. Nor start a which class is better blah blah blah. I appreciate the posts that have explained why it seems the monk is better and vice a versa. I went back after reading some of them to my paladin and took another look at his stats and equipment. I tinkered around with some of the things and I found that he could indeed do what the monk could, although at a much slower kill rate.
I have found that the monk has a really good burst damage but if the fight turns into one of attrition between you and the mob then the monk wont do so well, where as the paladin can often come out on top. i am still learning about the monk class and this is just my own observations, same goes with the paladin.

4  Monk Discussion / Monk Tactics & Techniques / Re: Nerve Strike? on: January 03, 2008, 10:09:19 AM
After reading the tips and advice from this thread. I have given nerve strike a try out while soloing ( i experiment solo so if i mess up no one else dies)  Smiley And I am slowly getting tha hang of storm riding in hitting one mob then FD'ing. Getting up with a Nerve Strike run back with the remaing mob in toe. With each sucsses I am gaining more confidence in this tactic and can now see its potential use in groups and raids.

Yep learned the Reed in the Wind in TK this morning. I was fighitng worgs outside the keep when i got the first message. Then another two inside the keep fighitng the spiders. The shaman I was with stayed back to see if he could learn it. Didn't have the heart to tell him otherwise, but he looked like he was having fun. angel

My paladin has this ability but apprantly SOE have taken out the quest for it and are going to revamp the whole story line. You started the quest for this in Misthaven Crossing as you fight vampires there. You would do the quests and there was a slight chance of during one of the fights would get bitten by one of the vampires.

Then Kip a halfling vampire slayer would explain who would need to see to cure it. Or keep it. If you cured it the reward was a fairy pet that was disabled due to it being able to one hit kill everything in the game. The other side of the quest was you went completly the other way and became a vampire. This gives you a 6 minuet levitate spell only at night time but it changes you into a bat form.

And yes the bat form is still in the game as I was flying round Tursh the other day  2funny But the quest is disabled and the unlock for the quest is removed.
7  Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: New Player Need Advice on: December 23, 2007, 02:21:56 AM
I have a level 23 monk and curently leveling up Bladed staff, martial sword, ulak claws, handwraps and some in shuriken. Once all are maxed out each level i dont have any points left over for the combat staff though  Undecided

I use the martial sword mainly when soloing and need that extra % chance to parry. But for damage when in groups either the ulak claws and a hand wrap combo or the bladed staff. Hope this helps, and yeh I am harmonious to on Halgar server and its a blast to play.  laugh

Now level 23 and I am finding out that my monk can do stuff that I would never of dreamed to do with my level 24 paladin.
Monk harmonious style using crane stance and martial sword pulls 2 mobs each mob has 3 dots and is a level above the monk. Monk wins. Paladin would of died with just one of them.  idiot2 and I thought the paladins were the tanks of the game along with warriors and dark knights.  Shocked

But over all I realy like this class and the monk is quickly becoming my main.
9  Monk Discussion / Monk Tactics & Techniques / Nerve Strike? on: December 23, 2007, 02:12:47 AM
I have been experimenting with this ability and to be honest its got me rather confused. I cant storm ride and then use it.
And when I am fighting I turn off auto attack and then use it on the add, and it doesn't work.

I am prety sure it should work with strom stride and if you turn off auto attack and then use it, but as far as I can see it seems broken.

Has anyone got some tips on how to use this skill with some effect? I can see it as a nice way to split up mobs or to save the healer if they get aggroed and would like to nail down this ability before I start to hit the higher level areas.

Thank you for the advice. I have just done the harmonious quest and got my first 2 skills from the Aum skill. Tried it out on some 3 dot blue mobs and I am surpprised at how much damage a level 15 monk can actualy do when I compare it to my level 24 paladin. And yeh I like the FD animation as well went around Khal trying it out.  smitten

I am about to pick my monk style but there are a few questions I would like to ask here before I make that choice and then regret it latter on.
I am thinking of going the harmonious route but see from posts here that alot of it is bugged, but the posts are rather old so is it a viable style to pick?

Also if I do pick a style that I latter find I do not like can you change it ?
