Monk Discussion / Monk General / Re: Drane's armor quests?

There are 3 premium grind spots for good equipment in the lvl30s: the Arena (grind coins), the Wardship (grind faction), and Craigwind (grind slivers).
The arena offers Tranquility lvl38 18%parry windblade and a set of blue armor, some yellow / orange accessory in exchange of coins.
The Wardship offers a red shuriken-summoning orb (max 20k faction + lots of rare drops after full upgrade. Unupgraded version needs around 15k faction), a full suit of Drane's armor (lvl38, 3 orange pieces @ 15k faction, rest yellow @ 10k, need rare drops), and a sucky martial staff.
Craigwind offers an orange bladed staff for 500 mistral slivers.
These are the areas in lvl30 range that you can GRIND for equipment while XPing. If you dont like grinding you can always go do easy 2dot areas like River Valley and ignore the grind on faction or coins or sliver. Personally I prefer to grind on something while XPing, and i spent 6 levels (35-41) in wardship to collect everything.
Hint on Wardship faction grind: equip the lowest dmg store-bought windblade and go hunt lvl7 bloodhowlers near Dahknag (sp?). Just make sure u dont one-shot the lvl7s and u'll get 1faction per kill.

Monk Discussion / Monk General / Confessions of a Cleric - wow

The monk board has been extremely quiet lately. Here's a post by a cleric, Discuss ^^
Personally I have lost faith in Taliskar's intention of ever fixing the imbalance that exist between classes, both between archtypes and within archtypes.
________________________________________________________________________
Ok, I will be honest:
1) I am a 49 Cleric 2) I choose WAR 3) I have OK gear (not bad, not the best)
I CANNOT tank 5 dots my level, or within my range. (solo) I CANNOT tank 6 dots " "
I CAN tank 4 dots 2 levels lower. (solo)
I CANNOT TANK 4 dots my level (unless I want to spent 30 minutes to kill 1) (solo)
I AM doing good damage, EQUALLING A RANGER. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ BUT: When I am in WAR mode, doing the same damage as a Ranger, I cannot heal, and I actually take more damage than a Ranger, even though they wear medium armor. Is it wrong I can do the same damage as a Ranger? I don't think so, considering the Affinity I am talking about is the War affinity, meaning damage. Besides, to be 'good' in it, you have to sacrifice your healing abilities, because you need high Dex + Str. So it is a double edged sword.
Anyway, to recap:
Can we do good damage: Yes Can we take damage well (4* +): No Can we rescue well: No Can we heal wel: Yes. The best? No. Who? BM.
Did Clerics end up being an allround class combing healing with damage? Yes.
Is it intended? Dunno.
Are we the strongest class? No.
Are we the worst class? No.
Where are we? Somwhere in the middle.

Yeah it was sarcasm...
Still feeling pretty bitter that after repeated plea after plea we get mostly cosmetic and insignificant buffs and upgrades, then they turn around and gave Clerics godly melee skills.
- Stance +30% damage, +10% accuracy, +15% block chance. Heals -75%. - Three 400%+xxx finishers. - Ten minute reuse that causes all melee to hit TWICE. - Ten minute reuse that adds ANOTHER 20% dmg, 10% crit and immunities. - 300% + XXX counterattacks.

Taliskar is still running the show, so Ranger >>> all no matter what we say.
Maybe he will give us another 8dps buff on Iron Hands if we whine loud enough but he'd probably slap a 30min recast timer on it while he's at it too.

Mob camping can happen no matter how many mobs are on ya. The successful-FD-but-mob-still-agro bug that has been there for eons is still here, and happens when 3+ mobs are involved.

I played a little more with FD and noticed 2 things
1) Mobs now camp your FDed "corpse" for a bit before WALKING back to their previous location before agro. The duration which they camp you seem to be random.
2) A successful FD still does NOT clear all agro - some still will stick to you in addtion to the ones camping you.

Played a little bit after patch, it seems that FD mechanics has been changed!
Apparently mobs do not rush back to their previous location before agro after I FD... they camp for a bit and then slowly walk back.

Has anyone got the boots yet? IMO it's a very interesting piece of equipment. Its clicky effect is supposedly close to our Soaring Leap, and it works outside of global cooldown.
Mid-air double soaring leap anyone?

It has came to the point that you either accept the monk as is, or play another class, or you quit playing altogether. Monk love has come and gone. The Talikar and the other dev has taken a good look at us and said, "Yeah this is how a monk should perform." Personally i think rangers, however better position they are in than us, deserve a round of ranger love. Knowing Sigil, they'll probably break more ranger skills than they claim they fixed anyways.
